Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) is known for upping the ante when it comes to the horsepower game. In 2021, Dodge launched the limited edition 710 horsepower Dodge Durango SRT HELLCAT. It didn’t take long for the HPE team to get their hands on the rare three-row performance SUV, and quickly upgrade it to feature its HPE1000 kit.
The HPE1000 supercharger upgrade package allows the Durango’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® HELLCAT V8 to produce an awesome 1,012 horsepower @ 6,500 rpm and 969 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4,200 rpm at the flywheel. These are the same numbers that are on the Trackhawk HPE1000 kit, which let the Trackhawk run a 2.6-second 0 to 60 mph time and a 1/4-mile time of 10.2-seconds @ 133 mph, according to the HPE team.
The Hennessey HPE1000 kit for the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat included the following equipment…
- 2.65L Supercharger System
- Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers
- Pulley Upgrade
- Throttle Body Upgrade
- High-Flow Catalytic Converters
- High-Flow Supercharger Bypass Valve
- Upgraded High-Flow Fuel Injectors
- Boost-a-pump Upgrade
- HPE Calibration Upgrade
- High-Flow Air Induction System
- Professional Installation
- All Necessary Gaskets & Fluids
- Chassis Dyno Testing
- Road Testing (up to 200 miles)
- Hennessey Exterior Badges
- HPE1000 Badges
- Serial Numbered Plaques
- 1-Year / 12,000 Mile Warranty
This particular model shown is serialized as build No. 2 of 200 built from Hennessey. We aren’t sure if there really are 200 units produced, but we did know Hennessey promised no more than 200 units would be produced. But this beautiful Reactor Blue Durango SRT HELLCAT, fitted with the optional Black Redline stripes is slated for the auction block on Saturday, November 12th at the Mecum Las Vegas auction.
The listening states that the Durango HPE1000 made 813 horsepower and 680 lb.-ft. of torque on the dyno. With only 1,626 miles on the odometer, that big-time horsepower has just merely been broken in.
Equipped with the Premium Interior Group, Premium Harman Kardon® audio system, dual rear DVD players, Black interior with Red accents, power sunroof, and tow package, this is a pretty loaded example too.
It will be interesting to see how this particular model does at the Las Vegas event. Considering Dodge just announced that the Durango SRT HELLCAT will return in 2023.
Result – Once the Durango SRT HELLCAT HPE1000 went across the auction block, it ended up selling for a total of $187,000 (including fees).
