CAUGHT: 2019 Ram 2500 Big Horn Sport Crew Cab 4×4:

We Get Even A Better Look At The New Heavy Duty Sport Package...

A few weeks ago, HDRams.com and MoparInsiders.com, showed you the very first pictures of the upcoming 2019 Ram 2500 Big Horn Sport on the streets of Metro Detroit. Not only was it the first time we got a chance to see the new Heavy Duty models in a Big Horn trim level without all of its prototype camouflage, but it was first time we could confirm that the Heavy Duty models were going to have a Sport Appearance Package as well.

Now, one of our forum members has sent us new images of that exact truck showing us much more high-resolution detail of the new radically different Big Horn Sport front end for the 2019 model year.

While the crosshair is gone for the 2019 model year, the updated 4th generation Heavy Duty models get a much bolder front-end compared to the outgoing model. Blending the styling from the outgoing truck’s “big-rig” look and the all-new 5th generation 2019 Ram 1500, the 2019 Heavy Duty shares the new “Ram Horns” upper trim piece that goes up and over the grille and downwards over the head lamps. While the fog lamps look smaller, you can now get optional LED fog lamps for the first time. Front bumper sensors have been hidden in the lower grille and fog light housings, giving the front bumper a much clearer look.

The most stand out feature about the Heavy Duty Big Horn Sport, is the silver painted Ram cross brackets in the grille. The 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn Sport does not have such a design element.

Gone are the model designation badges from the door and they are moved up to the hood like the all-new 1500 pickups. Underneath the model designation in red front, is the text Heavy Duty. Some of the production badging is missing. We know from spy photos, that there will be “RAM” badging on the lower part of the front doors of the truck, similar to the 2019 Ram 1500. We also know, these pre-production trucks are what they call “fast feedback” for FCA to give to engineers and management to drive in the real world before actually production starts. So these trucks were built at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Mexico and some small details are still missing.

We will have all the information on the update 2019 Ram Heavy Duty as the embargo drops on Monday, January 14th. HDRams.com and MoparInsiders.com will also be at the unveiling in Detroit, Michigan at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) bringing you all day coverage of the truck. Both websites will also be covering the unveiling LIVE. So stay tuned.
