RUMOR: New 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Capable Of 900+ HP!

New E85 Flex Fuel Capability To Push Hellcat Numbers To 909!

Last week, MoparInsiders.com broke the news that Dodge//SRT was secretly working on a factory E85 fuel-capable Hellcat. Now after probing one of our sources, we know have a hint about how much power the newest addition to the Hellcat lineup will have when running E85 fuel.

While talking to a reliable source, I decided to just ask straight out: “How much power is this E85 Hellcat going to make?” Our source replied, “I’ll give you one guess, but will tell you it’s not four figures.”

At that point I took a step back but thought to myself, Dodge isn’t anything if not a little predictable. We all know that when the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat debuted in 2015, the 707 horsepower number was the big news. Then came the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon rated at 808 horsepower on pump gas (840 horsepower on 100+ octane race gas), followed by the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye models and their variants ranging from 797 to 807 horsepower.

I thought might as well make this count and guessed: “909?” Our source replied with “bingo.”

Of course, don’t take this number as fact until Dodge//SRT officially releases the car. Considering Dodge’s history and the fact that they want to give the Hellcat a proper goodbye this does make sense. Of course, like all of you, I was personally hoping for that magically 1,000 horsepower and even heard from some sources in the past that engineers were targeting that number, but it appears that wasn’t meant to be. 

It does on the other hand allow the 1,000 horsepower 7.0-liter (426 cubic-inch) Hellephant HEMI V8 crate motor to preserve its rarity.

What we don’t know yet, is how the factory E85 Hellcat tune will be implemented. Will it be like the Challenger SRT Demon with a separate Engine Control Unit (ECU) and a high-octane button? Or will it be a real Flex Fuel tune that will automatically tune for the fuel in the vehicle?

Not 4 figures? I’d have guessed 999. But that’s close enough. So the new electric muscle is probably going to start at 1001?

909 is plenty.... traction is the limited factor. Make is AWD and that would be awesome.

Good stuff! Hopefully they are working on a street worthy 426 hemi for the next gen cars. I think it goes without saying, but I don't think Challenger and Charger fans are interested in any sort of EV version of the car. I know I'm not.
