This 2005 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Roadster, currently for sale on BringATrailer.com, has an intriguing backstory tied to its former owner, Osamu Shikado. Shikado, a former Chrysler designer, was the lead exterior designer for the Gen3 Dodge Viper SRT-10, making this car particularly notable. The Viper, purchased by Shikado in August 2012, has covered just 9,000 miles and has a clean history, with previous registrations in Pennsylvania, Florida, and California. The seller, who acquired the vehicle after Shikado, believes they are the second owner, despite the Carfax report listing them as the fourth.
Finished in Viper Black with a black convertible soft top, the roadster is equipped with an 8.3-liter (505 cubic-inch) VIPER V10 engine, producing 500 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. The car features a 6-speed manual Tremec transmission and a limited-slip differential, sending power to the rear wheels.
This Viper also comes with polished 18-inch front and 19-inch rear aluminum wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, which were replaced in September 2019. Braking is provided by Viper-branded calipers paired with two-piece slotted rotors on all four corners. Other notable exterior features include HID headlights, fog lights, a hood scoop, power mirrors, and side-exit exhaust outlets.
The cockpit is fitted with black leather and suede seats, embroidered with Viper logos on the backrests. Additional interior features include air conditioning, push-button start, dual roll hoops, and power windows. The trunk struts were replaced in December 2020, ensuring smooth functionality. The dashboard is outfitted with a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a gauge cluster, a 220-mph speedometer, and a central tachometer. The center stack provides additional information through gauges monitoring oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, and voltage.
Mechanically, the V10 engine received an oil change as recently as August 2024, highlighting the car’s well-maintained condition. The Viper also comes with renderings of the Gen3 Viper’s design and a copy of Automobile magazine featuring an interview with Shikado.
This 2005 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Roadster is being offered with no reserve. Bidding will end on Saturday, September 14, at 4:14 p.m. EDT.
