Windsor Employees Contribute $20,000 in Toys to Sparky’s Toy Drive
Stellantis Employees Donate $20,000 in Toys for Local Children...
Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant and its Unifor Local 444 members have once again shown their commitment to the community by contributing approximately $20,000 worth of brand-new toys to the Windsor Firefighters’ annual “Sparky’s Toy Drive.” The generous donation was made at Windsor Fire and Rescue Services Station No. 5, with the delivery led by the all-new Dodge Charger Daytona, painted in Redeye red, along with eight Chrysler Pacifica minivans. These toys will benefit local children in need this holiday season.
The donation is part of Stellantis’ long-standing support for the annual toy drive, which collects gifts for families in the Windsor-Essex area. David Bellaire, the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant Manager, expressed pride in the donation, highlighting the plant’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact on the community. “Along with the exciting launch of the all-new Dodge Charger and the production of the award-winning Chrysler Pacifica minivan, our team at Windsor Assembly Plant is dedicated to giving back and bringing joy to those who need it most,” said Bellaire. “We hope these toys bring smiles to many faces this holiday season.”
This year’s donation is particularly significant, as it marks the 22nd consecutive year that Stellantis employees have participated in Sparky’s Toy Drive. The drive helps about 1,200 families, or roughly 3,000 children, in the Windsor-Essex area. The campaign is organized by Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, and the toys will go to children who may otherwise go without gifts during the holidays.
Josh Easby, the Sparky’s Toy Drive Coordinator for Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, expressed heartfelt thanks to Stellantis for its ongoing support. “Year over year, we are astounded by the volume of donations received, both in the form of physical toys and monetary gifts,” Easby said. “Without their tremendous and overwhelming support, achieving our goal would not be possible. From all of us at Sparky’s Toy Drive, thank you for your continued generosity, and we wish you all a happy holiday season.”
In total, since 2002, Windsor employees have filled more than 120 minivans with toys valued at over $300,000. The company’s dedication to the cause has made a lasting impact on families in need, and this year’s donation is no different. The public is encouraged to support the cause by donating new, unopened toys or monetary gifts at Windsor fire stations, as listed on the Toy Drive’s official website: www.sparkystoydrivewindsor.com, until December 25.
