Detroit Pistons Visit The FCA Product Design Studio:

NBA Team Gets To See The Latest FCA Product In Teamwork Event...

While the auto industry is very much a solid part of the history of the Metro Detroit (Detroit is called the Motor City after all), so is sports. With teams like the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers (we won’t mention the Detroit Lions), there has been many dynasties in the Motor City with its professional sports team. Well, the National Basketball Association (NBA) very own Detroit Pistons, were the guest of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Product Design Office this week.

While Jeep is a marketing partner of the basketball franchise, the team not only was invited to the design studio to visit Head of FCA Design Ralph Gilles and his team to see the least vehicles in the Jeep portfolio. But were there to give insight to the teamwork displayed by both teams.

“It was interesting to have the Pistons come visit our office and share stories of how a car is made, how we manage, and how basically we are a family much like they are,” Gilles said. “What struck me about the Pistons players is how human they are and how much they love what they do and love being a part of the Detroit community.”

“I’ve done a lot of different things to my Jeep Wrangler so it was definitely cool to come in here and see some of the new concepts,” Pistons Guard/Forward Glenn Robinson III said. “I know when the Gladiator comes out I’m definitely going to get that in a month or so, that’s one of my goals.”

The more than a dozen Pistons players, got to see some of the amazing product in the current FCA U.S. portfolio as well as some of the legendary concepts of recent years. Concepts that included the Jeep Sandstorm Concept, Jeep 4SPEED Concept and Jeep Wrangler Africa Concept.

“I think it’s always interesting to see different companies from different areas, whether it’s shoes or cars or whatever guys are into, see how they work, how they operate on a day-to-day basis, how they are managed and how close they are as a team. Obviously for us, we’re together every day and the teamwork is such a huge part of everything we do, so getting to see how it works in a more corporate setting is really good for us.”, Pistons Forward Blake Griffin said.
