VIDEO: Lifting A 2021 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe:
Epic Adventure Outfitters Lifts The New Electrified Wrangler...
There is a lot of excitement surrounding the new 2021 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe. As the most modified vehicle in the Chrysler Group portfolio, Wrangler customers are known for customizing their rides before hitting the trail. While Mopar just introduced a lift kit for the new electrified Wrangler, our good friends at Epic Adventure Outfitters in Surrey, British Columbia weren’t going to wait for the aftermarket or Mopar to slow them up from hitting the trails in the new plug-in off-roader.
As the first aftermarket lifted Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe, Ginger and his team created their own setup using parts from Teraflex, 2.1 Falcon SP2 shocks, and having to make a custom front driveshaft for it all to work. That’s right, a new front driveshaft was added due to the added length of the new TorqueFlite 8P75PH 8-speed automatic transmission and a slightly different position of the transfer case.
The build didn’t end there. To help the new Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe with traction in any condition off-road, Epic dumped the stock 33-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires for a set of 35-inch Nitto EXO Grappler AMT tires wrapped around a set of 17-inch x 9-inch Fuel Kicker Wheels in Anthracite with custom blue-painted accents. The blue-accented wheels help tie the wheels into the new blue accents incorporated with the new electrified 4xe models.
To help finish off the build and to assist with adding the matching 35-inch spare tire, Epic used a Teraflex JL Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Mount Kit. The kit helps keep the bigger spare tire from blocking the rear backup camera as well as the 4xe’s new rear-mounted speaker. That’s right, the 4xe has a rear speaker to transmit noise to warn pedestrians that the vehicle is in motion.
The Epic team was nice enough to lay out the parts list and numbers needed to create their build for the new 4xe…
- Teraflex JLU 2.5″ Performance Spacer Lift – 1365210
- Teraflex JL Rear Trackbar Bracket – 1953600
- Teraflex JL Lower Front Sport Arms – 1253000
- Teraflex JL Adjustable Front Trackbar – 1753420
- Falcon Series 2.1 SP2 4-Door Shocks – 11-02-21-400-200
- Custom Front Driveshaft
- Teraflex Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Carrier – 4838910
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe delivers 21 miles of zero-emission, electric-only propulsion, making it commuter-friendly as an all-electric daily driver without range anxiety. The hybrid powertrain combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter (GME-T4) inline-four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, a high-voltage battery pack, and the TorqueFlite 8P75PH 8-speed automatic transmission. The Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe produces a combined 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque instantly on-demand.
