Over the past few weeks, we have been talking in detail about the new additions to the 2022 Ram 1500 model. One of those models originally thought to be the predecessor to the popular Outdoorsman model which ran from 2011 to 2018, the Outdoorsman was designed for hunters, fishermen, campers, and boaters. The package featured trailer-towing upgrades, off-road-oriented tires, and a rugged exterior appearance without breaking customer’s bank accounts.
For the 2022 model year, the new Back Country package pays homage to the Outdoorsman in the looks department and adds some features from the now popular Rebel package to the Big Horn (Lone Star for Texas market) trim for a lower price.

Thanks to our good friend @hellcatdurango caught one of the pre-production testers testing on Metro Detroit highways. This truck matches the truck our eagle-eyed spy photographers caught back in January (pictured above).
While the truck hasn’t been official announced yet, RAM has yet to set prices for the new package. We can expect that the truck should undercut the off-road-oriented Rebel trim. We expect that the Back Country should appeal to those customers looking for a more affordable option to the Rebel, who aren’t worried about sacrificing a few premium options for roughly the same capability.
