TSR Nitro Teams Ready for PRO Superstar Shootout in Bradenton

Stewart & Hagan Set to Battle in Top Fuel & Funny Car

The second annual SCAG Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout is set to bring high-stakes drag racing to Bradenton Motorsports Park this weekend, with Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) fielding two powerful entries. Tony Stewart will pilot his Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Dodge//SRT Top Fuel Dragster, while Matt Hagan returns in the American Rebel Beer Dodge//SRT HELLCAT Funny Car. Both drivers are ready to hit the track and compete in the unique invitation-only event that features the best of Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock racing.

The PRO Superstar Shootout is a one-of-a-kind event where elite NHRA drivers face off in a random chip-draw elimination format, adding an unpredictable twist to Saturday’s competition. Nitro qualifying sessions begin Thursday at 7:30 p.m. EST, followed by three additional qualifying rounds on Friday. The top eight qualifiers in each class will advance to eliminations on Saturday, with the first round set for 1:45 p.m. EDT.

Stewart, entering his second full season in Top Fuel, sees this event as the perfect way to shake off the offseason rust.

“It’s a great opportunity to get back in the car, make some passes, and get the season started the right way. The atmosphere at this event is amazing—laid-back but competitive. The chip draw adds a wildcard factor, which I think is really exciting for the fans,” said Stewart.

Hagan, a four-time NHRA Funny Car champion, is looking to build on his runner-up finish at last year’s event, where he fell just short in the finals.

“We’ve got a few new pieces to the puzzle this year, including a new crew chief and some fresh team members. This event will be a great test session to get everyone working together. The more reps we get, the better we’ll be when the season officially kicks off,” said Hagan.

High-Speed Action and Fan Engagement –

Beyond the on-track action, TSR fans will have the chance to meet Stewart and Hagan at two autograph sessions on Thursday and Friday. Additionally, Hagan will participate in a Funny Car driver Q&A on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. EDT.

To close out the weekend, American Rebel Beer CEO Andy Ross will take the stage for a live concert on Saturday night, giving fans a high-energy sendoff after the final round of eliminations.

With record-breaking runs, a star-studded lineup, and unpredictable matchups, the PRO Superstar Shootout is shaping up to be one of the must-watch drag racing events of the season. Fans can catch all the action live on FloRacing.com.
