TSR Nitro Teams Are Ready For The NHRA New England Nationals
Hagan Continues To Lead The Funny Car Points...
Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) Nitro drivers Leah Pruett and Matt Hagan are revving up their engines for the NHRA New England Nationals from June 2nd to June 4th in Epping, New Hampshire. Pruett, driving the Rush Truck Centers Top Fuel Dragster, and Hagan, behind the Rinnai Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Funny Car wheel, are ready to showcase their skills in their respective categories.
Pruett enters the event as the fifth-ranked Top Fuel driver, trailing points leader Steve Torrence by 34 points. On the other hand, Hagan leads the Funny Car standings, holding a 13-point advantage over Ron Capps. Both drivers will proudly represent their sponsors, as Pruett’s dragster sports the Rush Truck Centers branding, while Hagan’s Funny Car displays the colors of Rinnai tankless water heaters.
For Pruett, the New England Nationals will be her eighth appearance at the event, with her previous visits yielding two No. 1 qualifiers in 2017 and 2018. Although she is yet to secure a victory at Epping, Pruett remains focused on delivering a strong performance and aiming for the elusive win.
On the other hand, Hagan has been highly successful at New England Dragway, earning four wins in Funny Car in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022. He will be looking to defend his title and secure another victory at the track. Hagan holds the distinction of being the only driver with four wins at the New England Nationals.
In addition to the main event, Pruett will participate in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, a race within a race that takes place during the qualifying rounds. The challenge pits semifinalists from the previous race against each other, with the winners advancing to the final qualifying session. Pruett will face Josh Hart in Round 1 of the challenge, vying for bonus points and a bonus purse.
Both Pruett and Hagan will engage with fans during autograph sessions, with Pruett participating in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty autograph session and Hagan joining a Dodge autograph session.
As the NHRA New England Nationals approaches, Pruett and Hagan are eager to unleash their horsepower on the track, striving for victories and maintaining their positions in the championship standings.
