Meet The World’s First-Ever Cummins-Powered Manual 5th Gen Ram Rebel

Cummins-Power, Manual Transmission, & More Torque Than You Think...

The world of automotive modifications is a fascinating one, where enthusiasts constantly push the boundaries of what is possible. One such project that has recently gained attention is Project “RebHELL” – a Ram (DT) pickup truck that has undergone a significant transformation. The brainchild of Charles, better known as @that_guy_from_br on social media, this project involved swapping out the original engine of a brand-new 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel Crew Cab 4×4 with just 600 miles and replacing it with a 707-horsepower supercharged engine from a HELLCAT. This effectively created a TRX before it was even released, and garnered plenty of attention at the time.

However, Charles didn’t stop there. With the goal of making an even more impressive truck, he recently took Project “RebHELL” to the next level by swapping out the HELLCAT engine for a compound turbo 24-valve Cummins diesel engine. This latest iteration of the project now generates an incredible amount of torque, capable of spinning the tires in almost any gear. And, to make things even more impressive, a G56 6-speed manual transmission from a fourth-generation Ram Heavy Duty was installed, along with a custom shift plate and short throw shifter in the center console.

Despite these major modifications, the interior of the truck remains fully functional and looks almost factory-made. The reworked center console has been rethought to accommodate the installation of the 6-speed manual transmission, which seamlessly integrates with the dashboard layout. Thanks to its short-throw design, the shifter never comes into contact with the expensive Uconnect screen, ensuring a seamless and reliable driving experience.

On the exterior, the truck still features Fiberworx widebody fenders and bedsides, 37-inch Nitto tires, Method wheels, and custom nostrils in the grille borrowed from a Dodge Charger. The Rebel Supercharged graphics have been removed, but the overall look of the truck remains largely the same as its previous version.

Although Charles has not had the opportunity to test the truck’s performance on a dyno yet, it is evident that this truck is even more impressive than before, offering an incredible driving experience. This latest version of Project “RebHELL” is a testament to Charles’ creativity and expertise. The modifications made to this truck have made it even more impressive, offering a unique driving experience that few other vehicles can match.
