The Ram Rampage Is One Expensive Compact Pickup

Ram Will Have To Introduce Some Lower-Level Trims, To Be Competitive In North America...

The highly anticipated 2024 Ram Rampage is generating excitement among Ram enthusiasts in Brazil. With its bold design, advanced technology, and impressive performance, the Rampage is expected to make a lasting impression on the Brazilian automotive market. However, being a premium luxury brand in Brazil, Ram vehicles have a higher price tag than other compact trucks.

Currently, the Brazilian lineup of the 2024 Ram Rampage consists of three premium trims, each offering unique features and pricing:

2024 Ram Rampage Rebel 4×4. (Ram).

Rampage Rebel Turbo Diesel – R$ 239,990 (or about $50,350 USD):

The base model has a 9-speed automatic transmission, 4×4 traction with reduced mode for off-road capabilities, and a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with wireless connectivity. It also includes safety features like seven airbags, adaptive speed control, blind spot monitoring, and frontal collision alert with autonomous braking. The Rebel Turbo Diesel stands out with its full LED headlights, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, and All Terrain Tires 235/65 R17.

2024 Ram Rampage Rebel 4×4. (Ram).

Rampage Rebel Hurricane4 – R$ 249,990 (or about $52,445 USD):

For those seeking more power, the Rebel Hurricane4 variant features a turbocharged four-cylinder generating 272 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. It offers a sportier driving experience with a dual exhaust system, sport mode, and All Terrain Plus 235/65 R17 tires for improved grip and handling.

2024 Ram Rampage Laramie 4×4. (Ram).

Rampage Laramie Turbo Diesel – R$ 249,990 (or about $52,445 USD):

The Laramie Turbo Diesel trim adds a touch of luxury to the Rampage lineup. It includes all the features of the Rebel Turbo Diesel and further enhances the experience with leather Mountain Brown seats, chrome rear bumper, and 18-inch diamond rim wheels with 235/60 tires. The Laramie Turbo Diesel showcases premium touches with its chromed external finishes.

2024 Ram Rampage Laramie 4×4. (Ram).

Rampage Laramie Hurricane4 – R$ 259,990 (or about $54,544 USD):

Similar to the Laramie Turbo Diesel, this variant combines luxury with performance. It features the same premium interior, chrome rear bumper, and 18-inch diamond rim wheels. However, it introduces the Hurricane4 engine for enhanced power and speed.

2024 Ram Rampage R/T 4×4. (Ram).

Rampage R/T Hurricane4 – R$ 269,990 (or about $56,640 USD):

At the top of the Rampage lineup is the R/T Hurricane4 variant, designed for a sporty driving experience. It offers a leather and suede inner lining with Ruby Red stitching, an “R/T mode” button, sports suspension, and a sporty dual exhaust setup. The 19-inch glossy black rim wheels, R/T side badges, and hood graphics enhance its aesthetics.

An optional Elite Pack is available for R$ 6,000 (or about $1,250 USD), offering additional features to enhance the Rampage’s capabilities. This pack includes ambient lighting, a Harman Kardon® 10-speaker premium sound system with a 6-inch subwoofer, and power adjusting passenger seat, providing an elevated level of comfort and audio excellence.

2024 Ram Rampage Rebel 4×4. (Ram).

While the premium trims of the Rampage may be priced higher for the Brazilian market, if Ram intends to enter the North American marketplace, it would need to offer more affordable options. This could include toned-down models like the Tradesman and Big Horn, featuring fewer thrills and a smaller 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen. Additionally, a front-wheel-drive (FWD) variant may be necessary to compete with the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz, which both offer FWD models. Ram could also leverage its 4×4 capability as a marketing advantage over the competitors, but it might result in a lower EPA MPG rating.

Overall, Ram would need to adjust the Rampage lineup to ensure competitive pricing and features in the North American market. If they can achieve this, the Rampage has the potential to be a popular choice for Ram enthusiasts in North America.
