The MoparInsiders Team Picks Their Favorite FCA Vehicles Of 2018:

Here Is Our Favorite Vehicles Of The Past Year...

The MoparInsiders.com crew has been busy bringing you the latest Mopar information, news and rumors in 2018. Now with the year coming to an end, we want to reflect on what our favorite vehicles were of 2018 from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Here is what we picked…

2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. (Jeep).

Contributor and In-house Design Artist Ryan Dodd chose the 2020 Jeep Gladiator pickup:

“The Jeep Gladiator is by far my favorite debut from this year. It has been expected for quite some time now, but it has finally arrived and looks prepared to blow the competition away. Although the 2.0L with eTorque is not offered, the Pentastar V6 and EcoDiesel should prove to be very competitive. No other competitor offers the open-air experience of this truck, so that paired with good towing estimates, Jeep capability, and the wide variety of aftermarket and Mopar accessories should ensure that this dominates the midsize segment. The lack of an extended cab or two-door variant will likely discourage a few potential buyers, but if this truck is as big of a success as I think it will be, any number of variations and special editions could be in the pipeline. Here’s hoping for a plug-in variant to challenge Rivian.”

2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. (Jeep).

Contributor Ivan Barišić chose the 2020 Jeep Gladiator pickup:

“This one was a long coming and finally FCA has delivered it. It’s a Jeep and basically the only of a new products which will be globally available. That’s certainly one of the reasons why I chose it. And then in my opinion it’s just a far better versions of a 4 door Wrangler, an even better fit as a daily driver.”

2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody. (Dodge).

Contributor Cody Wagner chose the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody:

“The Challenger Scat Pack Widebody, without a shadow of a doubt. I’ve been wanting a track-focused Challenger for a very long time (because… race track) and thanks to the Scat Pack Widebody we now have that. Sure, we had the T/A, ACR Concept from ’11 (IIRC) and the SRT Challenger with the dynamic suspension since the refresh was good, but I feel the widebody is a step above that. It gets what Dodge is calling the “Widebody Competition Suspension”, 305 Section tires, Adaptive Damping Suspension, and you can get it with the rear seat delete. Not to mention the 6-Piston Brembo front brakes. It’s got everything I want in a Challenger (minus ACR-esque aero).”

2019 Ram 1500 Rebel Crew Cab 4×4. (Ram).

Contributor Jonathan B. chose the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel:

“I was going to say the Gladiator as well for my favorite new vehicle, but, I guess the 2019 Ram debuted this year too didn’t it? So I’ll choose that instead, just to provide some variety. The Gladiator is definitely interesting and important, but I absolutely love the work they did for the new Ram. The interior quality and space in the new Ram blows away the competition, eTorque is a really cool feature, and I’m sure there will be new features coming too (diesel, etc).”

2019 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT. (Dodge).

Contributor Mike Volkmann chose the 2019 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT:

“As a Charger guy, I really like the 2019 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT. But I love with the new stripe packages on the car, especially in White Knuckle with the Dual Blue Stripes. It screams 1990s throwback of past Dodge performance vehicles like the 1997 Dodge Ram SS/T, 1998 Dodge Viper GT2 (GTS/R) edition and the beloved 1998 Dodge Neon R/T. Add that with those sexy Laguna SRT seats and you have my pick for best car for 2018.”

2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320. (Dodge).

Co-Editor Robert Miller chose the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320:

“My favorite vehicle of the year has to be the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320. While some people think it is just another buzz model, it brings an affordable racing package to grassroots racers. Offering goodies from the SRT Demon in an affordable package and making the R/T Scat Pack the fastest naturally aspirated V8 muscle car. Not only does it cement Dodge’s place in the performance world outside of the HELLCAT powered models, but there is no doubt in mind it will be one of this year’s most popular models for the Challenger.”

2019 Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab 4×4. (Ram).

Co-Editor Jared Balfour chose the Canadian 2019 Ram 1500 Sport:

“The 2019 Ram 1500 hands down for me. The full-sized pickup market is extremely competitive and profitable for automakers. The 4th Generation (2009-2018) Ram 1500s were excellent trucks that quite frankly didn’t get the credit they deserved from most of the mainstream automotive outlets, especially the refreshed 2013+ models. Ram trucks knocked it out of the park with the 2019 1500s and have put everyone on notice. They drive extremely smooth, are quiet, capable and have world-class interiors that rival even the most expensive German luxury sedan. The 2019 1500 deservedly received tons of praise from consumers and the automotive press alike. How good the truck is combined with the egg that GM laid with their 2019 Half tons gives Ram an excellent shot at taking away the second place sales title from GM. Over on the 5thGenRam forum, I see a lot of converts coming over from the Silverado/Sierra and with how brand loyal pickup truck buyers are that speaks volumes. If these owners are happy with their Ram trucks they are more than likely to stick with the brand and keep growing their market share.”
