What A Grand Cherokee SRT/Trackhawk (WL) Could Have Looked Like

Oh My, What Could Have Been...

Jeep fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of a high-performance replacement for the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk models on the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee (WL). Unfortunately, the retirement of the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® HELLCAT V8 and the 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI SRT V8 engines have left fans uncertain if they will ever see a high-performance V8 option again.

However, digital artists on the internet have been busy creating their versions of what such a vehicle could look like. One YouTube channel, (@autoya.interior), has revealed a creative take on the fifth-generation interior of the Grand Cherokee, showcasing what an SRT and Trackhawk interior could look like if they were to make it into production. The designs incorporate themes from previous SRT and Trackhawk models, with the use of unique carbon fiber accents, and striking Red and Black Laguna leather.

In addition, an exterior design was also revealed based on a three-row Grand Cherokee L (WL75), although it was not particularly impressive. Nevertheless, it sparked curiosity about how an SRT or Trackhawk model utilizing the fifth-generation’s more aggressive exterior appearance would look like.

Although Jeep has been moving away from its HEMI V8s, in favor of electrified powertrains and twin-turbo Hurricane I6 engines, Jeep management has not ruled out a next-gen high-performance Grand Cherokee. However, the expectation is that the next-generation model will blend Hurricane power with some form of electrification, resulting in a very different powertrain from the iconic V8 engines that enthusiasts have come to love.

Despite the uncertainty, the passion and enthusiasm for the Grand Cherokee model remain evident. Digital artists on the internet have given us a glimpse of what the future could hold, reminding us that it is good to dream. Although we may not see a high-performance V8 option again, we can be sure that the next-generation Grand Cherokee will still be a powerful and exciting vehicle that Jeep fans will love.
