The 2020 Fiat 500X Crossover Still Holding Up Brand Lineup:
Turbocharged AWD Compact Utility Vehicle, Returns For New Model Year...
While FIAT announced that the iconic Fiat 500 would be discontinued in North America after the 2019 model year, it doesn’t mean that its bigger variants like 500X are leaving anytime soon. The 2020 Fiat 500X comes into the new model year with virtually no changes, since the vehicle was heavily updated last year.
To separate its platform-mate the Jeep Renegade, the FIAT brand altered its offering last year to a more premium vehicle with several features as standard equipment where they are optional on the compact Jeep. The Fiat 500X comes standard with the 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with engine stop-start (ESS) technology and produces 177 horsepower and 210 lb.-ft. of torque, while getting up to 30 miles per gallon (MPG).
The 1.3-liter turbo is mated with a standard 9-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. This powertrain combination offers sporty and engaging driving dynamics. Because of its standard AWD system, the 500X can be at home on urban streets or for the rugged country backroads.
While the 2020 Fiat 500X gets a lot of styling elements from the iconic Fiat 500’s Italian DNA, the 500X features comfortable seating for five passengers. The compact SUV is full of clever storage compartments and offers tons of space and utility for those who engage in an active lifestyle. Fiat 500X’s dual-pane sunroof which is available on all trim levels offers a power-sliding panoramic roof with side glass panels, which match with the body-side sheet metal which gives the small crossover a more open feel to its cabin.
With almost 70 available advanced safety and security features, including Front Park Assist and adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, rain-sensing windshield wipers, Blind-spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Path detection, the Fiat 500X offers some of the best safety technology options in its class.
Technology is also another part of the 2020 Fiat 500X impressive packaging. The 500X comes standard with the 7-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM Radio, Navigation and Bluetooth hands-free calling with voice commands. An available BeatsAudio premium sound system that features 8-speakers and a subwoofer for those audiophiles out there.
The 2020 Fiat 500X comes in three models, Pop, Trekking, and Trekking Plus. There are 11 colors available for the new model year, Arancio (Orange), Bianco Gelato (White Clear Coat), Blue Sky Metallic, Italia Blue, Blu Venezia (Blue Metallic), Vibrante Green Metallic, Grigio Moda (Graphite Gray), Nero Cinema (Black Clear Coat), Amore Red, Rosso Passione (Red Clear Coat), and Milano (Ivory Tri-coat). A new black roof option is available on all models.
