Dodge Adds Fun To The Color Palette For Its 2023 Hornet Lineup!

From 8 Ball To Q Ball, Lets Check Out The New Color Choices For The All-New Hornet...

The Dodge brand is known for its bright high-impact colors and their clever names. Classic colors like Plum Crazy, Go ManGo, Sublime, Green Go, and HEMI Orange instantly come to mind. In recent years, Dodge has taken some of that heritage and blended it with a more modern color palette to include fun names like White Knuckle, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, and IndiGo Blue.

And while the majority of the high-impact colors have been saved for the brand’s L-series cars (Charger and Challenger), it appears the marketing team is also getting creative with the color list for the all-new 2023 Dodge Hornet as well.

Built at the Pomligano Assembly Plant in Italy alongside the new 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale, the Hornet and Tonale share a lot of the same components. While that may have come with some controversy, the Dodge brand has taken light of the situation by introducing new exterior paint color names for the color palette it shares with the Alfa Romeo team and a couple of unique ones saved just for the Hornet.

While both the Hornet and Tonale have a lot in common, both are focused on different markets. Dodge is the more fun, sporty, and performance-driven brand with a younger audience, while Alfa Romeo is more premium, luxurious, and sophisticated. But it doesn’t mean that the Dodge brand can’t tweak certain things to appeal to its audience better.

Enter the 2023 color palette for both the Hornet and Tonale. While the Tonale gets an exclusive color to its lineup (Montreal Green), Dodge gets two at the moment (Blue Steele and Acapulco Gold). That’s not to say, there won’t be some sharing of the exclusive colors between the two vehicles at a later date.

Below, we have listed the colors for the 2023 model year for both vehicles, thus far. As you can see, the names play out to the different markets and characteristics the vehicles are focused on.

Since we have seen the Acapulco Gold, Blue Steele, and 8 Ball in-person at the official unveiling, we have to say we love the matte finish of Blue Steele (not to mention, all we can think of his Zoolander movie quotes when we hear the name).

I'm pretty sure Acapulco Gold is the same as Alfa's Ocra GT that's available for Giulia and Stelvio. So I think that should pop up for the Tonale too, maybe with the PHEV launch.

Nothing fun about a car that is marketed as something its not. There is nothing Dodge about this rebadged Alfa. They could have atleast used Dodge colors, instead they do the Alfa colors. Keep this Alfa in Italy where it belongs...Dodge needs to change the slogan to domesticated...
