Chrysler’s 2023 300S Will Be Even Rarer Than The New 300C

Only 1,485 Units Of 300S V8 Models Will Be Built For 2023 MY For America...

Back in September, the Chrysler brand introduced the 2023 Chrysler 300C Limited Edition as its farewell swan song to the last HEMI-powered car ever as the brand moves forward to complete electrification.

With only 2,000 units scheduled for production in the U.S., the limited edition model sold out in only 12 hours after reservations went live.

Amid the news of the announcement of the car being sold out, we were quick to point out there were still alternatives for those who missed out on a 300C. For example, the HEMI-powered Chrysler 300S V8. But since, thanks to our dealer connections, we have learned several new details about the last of the internal combustion engine (ICE) Chrysler 300s that will ever be built.

According to documents from Chrysler, both the 2023 Chrysler 300S V6 and 300S V8 will be produced in even more limited numbers than the 300C for the model year.

The Chrysler documents show that only around 850 units of the 300S V6 and 1,450 units of the 300S V8 will be produced for the U.S. in 2023. Making them some of the rarest L-cars to be built at the Brampton Assembly Plant (BAP) for the model year.

BAP has its hands full until the end of December 2023, as it serves orders from those looking to jump on the bandwagon and buy a final year of the current L-series cars (Charger, Challenger, or 300).

The Dodge brand has already announced its complete allocation of vehicles and where they are being shipped to, thanks to its “Horsepower Locator.” Chrysler, on the other hand, has left the ordering of the performance-oriented 300 models to its dealers.

Again those looking for an alternative to the sold-out Chrysler 300C can opt for the 2023 Chrysler 300S V8. Not only will it be rarer than the 300C once it rolls off the production line, but it can save you a few dollars as well.

With a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $45,350 (excluding $1,595 for destination), the 300S V8 can be equipped with many of the same features as the 300C.

  • Comfort Group – $2,085
    • Adaptive Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps
    • Automatic Adjust-in-Reverse Exterior Mirrors

The well-appointed 2023 Chrysler 300S V8 with its 5.7-liter (345 cubic-inch) HEMI V8 with 363 horsepower and 394 lb.-ft. of torque, is no slouch. The 300S V8 reaches 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph.

Altogether, a fully-loaded 2023 Chrysler 300S V8 will set you back $50,975. That is more than $5,000 cheaper than the 300C and on par with a similarly equipped 2023 Dodge Charger R/T Plus before the guaranteed dealer markups.

If the 300S V8 is still out of your price range, you can replace the HEMI with a 300-horsepower Pentastar V6 and save yourself an additional $3,200. Both the V6 and the V8 can be equipped in the same way.

So if you are looking to get your hands on one of the Chrysler 300 performance models for 2023, you should contact your local Chrysler dealer immediately and order one as soon as possible before they are all snatched up. Because once they are, you will never be able to get one again. That is unless it is on the used market.
