Is Fiat Bringing More Power To Its Subcompact 600 HYBRID?

Latest Spy Photos Say Recent Rumors Are True...

Fiat has been under fire since its Q1 2024 sales reports showed that only 2,613 units of its all-new, all-electric 600e were sold in the European market at that time. As a sibling of the highly successful B-segment Jeep® Avenger crossover, it was shocking to see just how poorly the Fiat-branded eCMP vehicle performed compared to the European-built American-branded Avenger.

Fiat has since opened orders for a HYBRID model 600 with a 100-horsepower turbocharged 1.2-liter inline-three-cylinder engine. The same engine is found under the Avenger’s hood, and Fiat hopes the mild-hybrid model might be enough to boost sales. While Fiat is getting ready to launch the new 600 HYBRID model, its performance arm, Abarth, has teased its upcoming 240-horsepower 600e model.

For those who ordered one of the HYBRID models, deliveries should be coming very soon. However, another mild-hybrid variant with more power appears in the works. Thanks to the keen eyes of our good friend, spy photographer Walter Vayr (@GabetzSPYUnit), who caught a more powerful model test in Italy recently.

The biggest telltale sign is that this version sports dual rear exhaust outlets, compared to the single unit found on the HYBRID models that will soon be delivered. According to sources, the higher horsepower model will feature the 136-horsepower variant of the 1.2-liter found in the upcoming Abarth 600e and Jeep Avenger 4xe, but unlike those models, it will not be paired with two 21 kW e-motors.

Instead, the 136-horsepower 1.2-liter should be paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that supports low-speed electric driving through a 6-speed e-DCS6 dual-clutch automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor. It will be interesting to see if the Avenger follows suit as well.

I swear this is the softest launch I have ever seen who knew it was ever for sale? Maybe it is on purpose while they ramp up?

You can't go anywhere on social media without seeing the Ugly Alfa version .... and I didn't even know this had launched.
