FCA US Recalls 4.8 Million Vehicles For Cruise Control Issue:

Recall On One Of The Busiest Driving Weekends Of The Year...

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced today, that it was recalling 4.8 million vehicles immediately due to an issue in which the cruise control feature could be stuck on when activated.

FCA said that no injuries or accidents have been reported due to the issue, but there has been one report of a Dodge Journey model in which the driver could not deactivate cruise control. That was enough to make FCA recall 4.8 million vehicles.

FCA is telling owners not to use their cruise control feature until a dealership can upload new software to fix the situation. The vehicles included in the recall are the following…

  • 2015 to 2017 Chrysler 200
  • 2014 to 2018 Chrysler 300
  • 2014 to 2018 Chrysler Pacifica
  • 2014 to 2018 Dodge Charger
  • 2014 to 2018 Dodge Challenger
  • 2014 to 2018 Dodge Durango
  • 2014 to 2018 Dodge Journey
  • 2014 to 2018 Jeep Cherokee
  • 2014 to 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL
  • 2014 to 2019 Ram 1500
  • 2014 to 2018 Ram 2500/3500
  • 2014 to 2018 Ram Chassis Cab 3500/4500/5500

The news comes as one of the biggest driving weekends of the year for people in the United States, is this weekend. FCA will be sending recall notices to owners as soon as possible.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is also urging consumers to search its Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) lookup tool to see if their vehicles are affected.
