83,453 Vehicles Are Affected By The Recall...

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2017 to 2018 Dodge Journey (JC) models for their amber side reflex reflector assembled into the headlamp, which may not reflect brightly enough. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Approximately, 83,453 vehicles are affected by the recall.

If the reflection of light from the reflector is below specification, the position and dimensions of the vehicle may not always be perceived by other drivers, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

According to the recall, the suspect period began at the Toluca Assembly Plant on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017, when parts with a photometric noncompliant front amber side reflex reflector were introduced into vehicle production, to Friday, July 6th, 2018, when suspect parts were no longer used in production. Supplier (HBPO North America Inc. in Troy, Michigan) production records were used to identify the suspect period.
