UPDATE: Last Chance To Order A New 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan:

Grand Caravan Ordering Comes To An End, This Month...

Back in March, MoparInsiders announced that it was the last time that Grand Caravan fans would be able to order a 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan to their own specifications. Now, thanks to our dealer connections, we are learning that the Dodge brand has reopened the ordering process for the Grand Caravan, till the end of the month due to COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) closure of its Windsor Assembly Plant.

The Windsor Assembly Plant which currently builds the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2020 Chrysler Voyager, and 2020 Chrysler Pacifica, will restart operations this coming Monday, May 18th. The plant is expected to only run one shift at its initial restart period until the company feels it is safe to add another shift.

The Caravan nameplate has been on a Dodge vehicle, since the launch of the original minivan in November of 1983 as a 1984 model. The “Grand” part of the name was added to a long-wheelbase version of the original van in May of 1987, before becoming the sole name of the vehicle after the short-wheelbase version was dropped after 2007.

Originally scheduled to be discontinued in the 2015 model year, the Dodge Grand Caravan has soldiered on five more model years and becoming a “cash cow” for FCA. The value-based Grand Caravan continues to be the best-selling minivan in both the United States and Canada, as well as the best-selling Dodge branded vehicle.

Currently, due to emission restrictions, the Grand Caravan is not available for the 2020 model year in the California Emission States. Those states include California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. But if you don’t live in one of those states, you can still order a 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan until the end of the month.

There are three trim levels available for the 2020 model year, those include SE, SE+ (last year’s SE 35th Anniversary Edition), and SXT. The starting price for the entry-level Grand Caravan SE starts at a U.S. MSRP of $27,290 (not including destination charges of $1,495).

The Dodge Grand Caravan will ultimately be replaced with the new for 2020 model year, Chrysler Voyager. The Chrysler Voyager will be a more budget-friendly version of the Chrysler Pacifica and will be offered in both the United States and Canada.
