FIAT’s Compact Toro Sport Utility Pickup Gets Some Updates For The 2023 Model Year!

FIAT's LATAM Mini-Truck Gets Some Minor Updates For 2023...

Responsible for transforming the Brazilian pickup truck market, the FIAT brand’s popular compact Toro sport-utility pickup (SUP) continues to evolve. For 2023, there are subtle changes for the new model year, including a new sound system (and we don’t mean stereo audio system).

All 2023 models will feature a new steering wheel design, featuring the same steering wheel controls found on most Chrysler Group vehicles. There has also been an update to the individual tire pressure monitoring system (iTPMS) allowing the driver to see exactly which of the tires is under pressure. Another novelty is the addition of the FIAT flag as a label on Toro’s stylish seats, continuing the brand’s new branding design.

For those looking for a more darkened theme, the S-Design Appearance Package returns to the Toro. Available on both the Freedom gasoline and diesel models, the package offers a premium finish, such as bronze accents on the darkened interior and matching stitching on the seats and leather trim. In addition, the F-I-A-T text on the grille is also done in a Bronze tone. There are S-Design badges on the dashboard and front doors. The package also even adds more content, such as a sports bar (santo antônio), black running boards, Keyless Enter N’ Go, wireless phone charger, and the popular “High-Tech Kit” that includes a rain sensor, daytime sensors, and an electrochromic rearview mirror.

The 2023 Toro also includes some new color options. Volcano, Ranch, and Ultra models can now be configurated with the popular Sting-Gray exterior color from the Jeep® brand. Ultra models also include a new Polar White exterior color option.

As for the new sound system, it was designed to provide a new sound identity for FIAT vehicles in Latin America (LATAM). The system was developed by the brand in partnership with the Brazilian company Soundthinkers. The entire process of creating and developing the initiative was designed and tested together with users.

The new sound system focuses on more pleasant and modern sounds to mark each action warning in a vehicle. Activities such as adjusting the settings of the multimedia center, receiving notifications from the center, confirming the configuration of the instrument panel, and rescuing pre-defined information gained softer melodies.

The warnings about driving with the handbrake on or without a seat belt, driving with the door open, skipping a gear, parking the vehicle in reverse, turning off the vehicle, and opening the door without removing the ignition key now bring a sound of louder and more repetitive alerts to get the driver’s attention, but without ceasing to be pleasant. All of the sounds are now more aligned, follow the same identity, and were designed to improve the customer’s experience inside the vehicle at all times.

When the customer starts the vehicle, a new welcome animation with Sound Design and Sound Logo appears in the multimedia center. The welcome movement is the result of the mixture between the sound and the sonic flag used as a sound trigger, serving as the basis for the melody (Sonic Script), which is represented by the sequence of four notes.
