Stellantis Plays Nice: $1M Donation To Trump’s Inauguration

Automaker Waiting On Trump's New Policies, To Move Forward...

Stellantis has joined a growing list of corporate giants making a $1 million donation to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration fund, signaling a potential olive branch as the automaker faces scrutiny over its production decisions.

During his campaign, Trump took aim at Stellantis’ plans to potentially move some Ram 1500 production to Mexico, stating, “Tell Stellantis that if they plan on moving we’re going to charge them a 100% tariff on every car … and they won’t move.”

Antonio Filosa, Stellantis COO of North America and Jeep® CEO, emphasized the strategic importance of the U.S. market, highlighting ongoing efforts to boost the group’s performance after a 15% sales decline in 2024.

The donation comes as the automotive industry braces for potential changes in tariffs, electric vehicle regulations, and emissions standards under the new administration. Other major companies like Ford, General Motors (GM), Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet have also made similar contributions.

With the inauguration set for January 20th and the promise of 100 new executive orders under Trump’s “America First” plan, Stellantis appears to be positioning itself to navigate the changing political and economic landscape.
