Stellantis Launches Circular Economy Hub in Mirafiori as Part of Decarbonization Strategy
Internal Personnel Chosen For Sustainability Initiative...
Stellantis has announced that it is starting the selection phase of internal personnel for its first Circular Economy Hub in Mirafiori, an important initiative for the company’s decarbonization strategy. The hub will focus on promoting a sustainable business model, and a dedicated project team with specific skills has been created to drive circular economy development and growth targets.
The first 200 resources among Stellantis workers and employees in Italy will be recruited and involved in the production and management of the hub. Adequate training will be provided to achieve the required skills, and as production ramps up, employment will increase.
The hub will start operating with three main activities implementing the 4 R strategy (Reman, Repair, Reuse, Recycle). These activities aim to extend the life of parts and vehicles and offer a sustainable and accessible alternative. In addition, the hub will help shift Stellantis’ production and consumption model from a linear economy to a circular economy, which minimizes waste and reduces the demand for new raw materials, energy consumption, and emissions.
The Circular Economy Business Unit is an essential step in the implementation of Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan to reach more than €2 billion ($2.18 billion) in revenues by 2030, quadrupling revenues from extending the life of products and increasing recycling revenues by ten times compared to 2021.
