SPOTTED: 2026 Next-Gen Alfa Romeo Stelvio Mules

It’s been a decade since the Alfa Romeo Stelvio first hit the scene. With that being said, it’s about time for a new model. Recent spy shots captured by our friend Walter Vayr (@GabetzSPYUnit) reveal the mules for the second-generation Stelvio cloaked under the bodywork of a Jeep® Grand Cherokee L. These images, taken in Modena, confirm that Alfa Romeo is hard at work perfecting its next evolution of luxury SUVs.

Testing With Familiar Skin – 

While it may seem unusual to see an Alfa Romeo hiding within Jeep bodywork, there’s a solid reason behind it. The next Stelvio will grow slightly in size over its current configuration. This strategy allows engineers to refine their drivetrain and handling characteristics without revealing the final design too soon. The production version will roll out from Stellantis’ Cassino Assembly Plant alongside the next-generation Giulia.

Electrification Innovation – 

Alfa Romeo’s powertrain strategy for the Stelvio is shifting gears. The lineup will include battery-electric (BEV) and hybrid models, with speculation about internal combustion engine (ICE) options for specific markets. A high-performance all-electric Quadrifoglio version is also rumored to be in the works, reportedly featuring the same advanced 800-volt electrical architecture and powertrain as the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee. of the STLA Large platform. Such options could cater to buyers not yet ready for the full EV experience.

With the 2026 Alfa Romeo Stelvio shaping up as a game-changer for the brand, enthusiasts can look forward to a blend of cutting-edge technology, Italian flair, and unrivaled performance. The official debut of the new Stelvio is expected to be unveiled on June 24th, 2025, when Alfa Romeo celebrates its 115th anniversary, with the Quadrifoglio variant likely stealing the show.
