SPOTTED: 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack First Edition

Our First Glimpse Of A Production-Ready Model On Public Roads...

The controversial 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack has been spotted again, testing on public roads. Thanks to Instagram user @dtownmuscle, we are now looking at a production-ready version of the new e-muscle car, a model that signifies a significant shift for the Dodge brand.

A Glimpse of the Future –

Over the past few months, Dodge engineers have been seen testing various prototypes of the new Charger on public roads. However, this is the first sighting of a production-ready model, complete with the Mopar Direct Connection eStage 2 badge nestled beneath the Scat Pack fender badge. This badge is significant because it indicates that every 2024 Daytona Scat Pack comes with the eStage 2 kit, boosting the e-motors to an impressive 670 horsepower (500 kW) and 627 ft.-lb. of torque.

Next-Gen Scat Pack Performance –

The Scat Pack’s power output allows the hefty 5,838-lb muscle car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.3 seconds and complete a 1/4-mile in 11.5 seconds. The all-electric, all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and the high-capacity battery pack make this performance possible. However, one of the most talked about aspects since the car’s launch has been the top speed, which is limited to 134 mph (216 km/h), whereas the outgoing Dodge Charger Scat Pack non-Widebody had a top speed of 175 mph.

Advanced Battery and Charging Capabilities –

The Charger Daytona models are built on the new STLA Large platform, a highly flexible BEV-native design that supports extreme power. The heart of this beast is a 100.5 kWh battery pack with a peak discharge rate of 550 kW, engineered to deliver maximum acceleration by allowing the motors to draw as much power as the battery can output during a 1/4-mile run.

The prismatic battery cell structure ensures better thermal performance and stability, which means lower temperatures during high-performance driving. The battery uses nickel cobalt aluminum chemistry.

When it comes to charging, the Daytona Scat Pack offers impressive stats. A Level 3 DC CCS using a 350 kW fast charger can go from 20% to 80% charge in just over 27 minutes, translating to an estimated charging capacity of approximately 8.1 miles per minute. A Level 3 DC CCS using a 175 kW fast charger can go from 20% to 80% charge in just over 42 minutes. The vehicle boasts a range of 260 miles (418 kilometers) on a full charge.

Regenerative Braking and Drive Modes –

The Charger Daytona Scat Pack also features an advanced and customizable regenerative braking system. This system converts kinetic energy into electricity during deceleration to extend the vehicle’s range. Drivers can adjust the level of regenerative braking to suit their preferences.

Additionally, the vehicle comes with multiple drive modes, including PowerShot mode, which provides an extra 40 horsepower for short bursts. Other modes include Drag, Track, Drift, and Donut modes, each tailored to maximize performance in different driving scenarios.

What Is This Particular Scat Pack Configuration? –

Dodge will launch the two-door 2024 Dodge Charger Scat Pack in three different configurations for buyers to choose from. The specific model spotted appears to be the Scat Pack Configuration 2 for the First Edition Charger Daytona models. This means it includes several high-performance features such as:

  • Direct Connection eStage 2 Upgrade: Adding 80 horsepower for a total of 670 horsepower.
  • Track Pack: Featuring red Brembo 6-piston front rotors and high-performance tires (305/35R20 A/S front and 325/35R20 A/S rear).
  • High Back Leather/Suede Performance Seats: Designed for comfort and support during spirited driving.
  • Drive Experience Recorder (DXR): With a forward camera and USB data output.
  • Other premium features include ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, interior ambient lighting, a heads-up display (HUD), premium LED headlamps, and illuminated door handles.

Sleek Design and Modern Tech –

The Charger Daytona Scat Pack maintains the iconic muscle car aesthetic with a modern twist. It features the Dodge patent-pending front R-Wing, which enhances downforce and gives the car a distinctive look. With 20-inch wheels and a large rear hatch, the widebody stance provides visual appeal and functional cargo space.

Inside, the Charger Daytona is equipped with a dynamic, layered instrument panel, a 12.3-inch center display, and various advanced tech features. Dodge’s Uconnect 5 infotainment system, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, and a new Navigator Charging Location feature enhance the user experience and help drivers find charging stations on the go.

Safety and Convenience –

The Charger Daytona Scat Pack is loaded with safety features, including Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Active Lane Management, and more. Optional features such as a 360 Surround View Camera and Turn Signal Active Blind Spot View further enhance safety and convenience.

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona is produced at the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario, across the river from Detroit. The 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona four-door, twin-turbocharged internal combustion engine (ICE) powered two-door and four-door 2025 Dodge Charger SIX PACK models will all start production in Q1 2025.

The design of the car is absolutely beautiful. I prefer it over the current Challenger for sure but in personal preference, I will always gripe about the doors not being scalloped like the '68-'70 cars as that is a defining trait of the car. I will be more excited when the six pack cars start being shown. What boggles my mind is that this car is larger than the current Chargers even in two door form. I currently own a '13 Charger and to me its a fairly large car. I'm definitely looking forward to what upgrades (both Direct Connection and Aftermarket) will be available for the six pack cars when they arrive.

sigh, yawn.
Don't get me wrong, beautiful car. Not interested in the power train/source. Dead-horse: Technology and supporting structure just not there and appears to be years away if at all.
I.C.E. or H.E.V. then we can talk.

I agree, a beautiful, LARGE two door, but we absolutely need a smaller, lighter, more aggressively styled Dodge muscle coupe, that’s obvious too.
No need to press the significant rejection of the wisdom of the all electric Daytona in the current market but we instead should remain positive and celebrate the Six Pack wisdom for Dodge. Must support the Dodge brand, right?
Many reports of a Cuda model meeting the initial promises of a smaller lighter Challenger replacement, notably with V-8 and hybrid power. Let’s hope it comes soon. Finally, agree on those door scallops, as an option at least.
