This morning Dodge showed off the new twin air scoop for the SRT HELLCAT for the 2019 model year. However, that might be just the start.

If you are a Charger or Challenger SRT HELLCAT owner with an 8-speed automatic, you already know that your car isn’t equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). For those who don’t know what ACC is, it is a feature that uses the cruise control on your car along with a radar sensor which can keep a programmed distance from the vehicle in front of you.

HELLCAT owners have been with out the system, from what Dodge has stated as the HELLCAT models have required maximum cooling for the 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V-8. (This is also the reason why there are not fog lights offered on HELLCAT models, instead the housings are used for additional cooling).

Last week we brought you some pictures of the upcoming rumored 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Drag Pack. Basically a SRT HELLCAT with the trickle down drag racing goodies from big brother SRT Demon. The black model we showed had the same radar unit for the ACC system on the other automatic models equipped with the “Technology Group”, sales code ADG.

While the black SRT HELLCAT Drag Pack prototype we showed clearly has the radar unit mounted in the front grille. It is not the only SRT HELLCAT Drag Pack prototype we have seen with the intentions of adding ACC. Real Fast Fotography spotted this TorRed prototype last year in Metro Detroit. If you look closely at the lower part of the grille in the lower fascia, you will notice that the grille has a hole in it. The hole is in the same place that the radar for the ACC is located on the black prototype spotted recently. We also got the featured image at the top of the page carrying ACC as well.

Does this mean that all SRT HELLCAT automatics will get ACC for the 2019 model year? We don’t know just yet. But it does point out that FCA US may be listening to it’s HELLCAT owners and trying to adapt the system for it’s HELLCAT customers.
