YouTube Channel Brings Back Demon Destined For The Scrap Heap...

We often see several YouTubers resurrect modern-day Challenger, Charger, and 300 models that have been wrecked. But the guys at ScrapLife Garage, recently completed the resurrection of a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon that was destined for the scrap heap, thanks to a fire.

However, instead of accepting its fate, ScrapLife Garage embarked on an ambitious project to bring this charred relic back to its former glory.

But ScrapLife Garage didn’t settle for merely restoring the Demon to its original state. No, they had grander plans in mind. They decided to give this beast a manual transmission, a departure from its ZF-sourced 8-speed 8HP95 TorqueFlite automatic gearbox. To accomplish this feat, they turned to a wrecked 2018 SRT HELLCAT, salvaging its Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission to pair with the Demon’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® H.O. V8 engine.

Now, this swap wasn’t a walk in the park. Modern automotive electronics posed significant challenges, requiring meticulous effort to ensure compatibility between the new transmission and the car’s intricate electronic systems. But through perseverance and expertise, ScrapLife Garage overcame these hurdles, breathing new life into the once-forsaken Demon.

Months of hard work and dedication culminated in a triumphant moment captured in their recent video. Viewers witnessed the first official startup of the $20,000 salvage auction Demon, its engine roaring back to life. But the excitement didn’t end there. The team took the resurrected Demon for a road test, pushing it to its limits before subjecting it to the scrutiny of the dyno.

What sets this rebuild apart is the decision to preserve the car’s original burnt and charred paint scheme—a testament to its tumultuous past and the resilience of those who restored it. This unique aesthetic gives the Demon a character all its own, distinguishing it from its pristine counterparts.

And the manual transmission? It’s a match made in automotive heaven. The Tremec TR6060 seamlessly complements the Demon’s ferocious motor, something many enthusiasts were longing for in the similar in the Demon-based Redeye models.
