VIDEO: HPE’s Mammoth 1000 Package For The TRX, Hits The Dyno!

How Much Rear-Wheel Horsepower Can The 1,000 Horsepower Package Make?

We have been talking a lot about Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) lately. It doesn’t seem a day has gone by in the past two weeks, that the Texas-based tuner hasn’t posted something Mopar related thanks to the popular Hellcat-powered 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat and 2021 Ram 1500 TRX have arrived at their shop.

The performance upgrade includes an upgraded supercharger, pulley upgrades, stainless-steel headers, high-flow exhaust, and HPE tuning. The package should be good to push the TRX’s Hellcat engine to 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb.-ft. of torque at the flywheel. That is an improvement of 310 horsepower and 319 lb.-ft. of torque over the stock output.

While we have already seen the company’s Mammoth 900 performance package in action, the new limited-edition “Mammoth 1000” models will incorporate HPE’s HPE1000 kit for the Hellcat engine in a turn-key package that also features a number of advancements.

The HPE1000 performance upgrade has already seen its way under the hood of several Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models, as well as the Hellcat-powered Jeep® Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Most recently, HPE announced the package would be available for owners of the upcoming limited-edition 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat as well.

On the dyno, this particular 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition put down 584 horsepower and 561 lb.-ft. of torque in its stock form to the rear wheels. That is quite a different number than the TRX that was upgraded with the Mammoth 900 package did in its stock form on the same Dynojet dyno. That truck put out 607 horsepower and 593 lb.-ft. when it was tested to establish a baseline.

When it was all said and done, the Mammoth 1000 package added 177 horsepower and 140 lb.-ft. of torque to produce a total of 761 horsepower and 702 lb.-ft. of torque. For comparison, the Mammoth 900 put down an additional 121 horsepower and 86 lb.-ft. of torque to the ground over the stock numbers, equaling out to 728 rear-wheel horsepower and 679 lb.-ft. of torque.
