Dodge and MotorTrend’s High-Octane Event Set for August 10...

Mark your calendars for August 10, 2024, as Dodge and MotorTrend bring back the highly anticipated Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge at the M1 Concourse. Now in its ninth year, this one-day event promises to be a thrilling celebration for car enthusiasts, featuring drag racing, a Direct Connection Influencer Grudge Race, Dodge thrill rides, and a massive car show.

Roadkill Nights has become one of the most exciting events in the car hobby, drawing crowds with its high-octane activities. This year’s event will showcase the latest Dodge offerings, including the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. The event will also feature a manufacturer’s midway, food vendors, and surprises that will delight attendees.

“For nearly a decade, Roadkill Nights has brought horsepower enthusiasts together for a celebration of performance like none other, and the 2024 event will add to the legacy of Dodge and MotorTrend’s horsepower circus,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO. “In addition to drag racing and the Direct Connection Grudge Race, we have surprises in store this year that are sure to send a charge through all Roadkill Nights attendees.”

Last year’s event saw thrilling competitions with $10,000 in prize money up for grabs. Jimmer Kline clinched victory in the Big Tire class with his nitrous-powered 1966 Pontiac Acadian, overcoming 2022 champion Joe Barry and his iconic “Creamsicle” 1956 Chevy in the final round. Mikel Borggren won his second consecutive Small Tire category with his LS-powered 1987 Volvo Wagon.

The 2023 Direct Connection Grudge Race featured fierce battles with racers building drag cars using 807-hp HELLCrate Redeye crate engines from the Direct Connection catalog. This year, the grudge race participants will rely on the Hurricrate engine, derived from the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE H.O. I6 engine found in Dodge, Ram, and Jeep® models. The 2024 Grudge Race line-up includes six-time HOT ROD Drag Week winner Tom Bailey of Sick Media, Westin Champlin, Morgan Evans of the “Torque N Tungsten” YouTube channel, Allison Kovalik, American Muscle HD’s Garrett Reed, and Herman “Demonology” Young.
