Richard Rawlings Crashes HELLCAT Widebody At Roadkill Nights:

Hits Concrete Barrier During Crazy Run...

During yesterday’s Roadkill Nights event on Woodward Avenue in front of M1 Concourse, Fast & Loud star and Gas Monkey Garage owner Richard Rawlings hit the concrete barrier wall during the first round race while racing NHRA Top Fuel driver Leah Pritchett. Rawlings was past of an 8-car celebrity field that featured celebrities from the automotive entertainment industry. The driver lineup included “Roadkill” co-hosts David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan, Richard Rawlings of Discovery’s “Fast n’ Loud,” NHRA Mopar funny car driver Matt Hagan, Cristy Lee of “Barrett-Jackson Live” and “All Girls Garage,” and Bill Goldberg and Matt D’Andria from the automotive podcast “CarCast with Adam Carolla, and NHRA Dodge Top Fuel driver Leah Pritchett.

Rawlings and Pritchett were pinned up against each other after drawing poker chips with the other celebrities. When the pair came to the burnout box, Rawlings performed a massive burnout covering the track in tire smoke. As Pritchett lined up in her lane, Rawlings already lined up started doing a standing burnout as the pair took the start to the race. Because of this method that Rawlings chose, the Challenger SRT HELLCAT Widebody did a massive burnout while going down the track and about half way down the 1/8-mile the car lost control and hit the concrete barrier doing around 70mph on the driver side and lifted up on the barrier before coming back to the race surface.

Luckily, everyone was alright. Since there were four of the Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Widebodies being used for the celebrity shootout, the car was supposed to run another round after but was taken off the track. Even though it looked like a rough hit to Rawlings car, the Challenger had minor damage.

Bill Goldberg went on to beat Mike Finnegan to win the shootout.
