Ram Trucks Brazil has sent a notice to owners of its 2021 and 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie models, regarding a replacement of an engine preheating system relay. According to the automaker, there is a possibility of a short circuit of the component that has been identified. That failure could cause an increased risk of a vehicle fire or cause potentially serious or even fatal physical damage to the vehicle’s occupants or third parties.
Owners are to schedule an appointment with their Ram Trucks Brazil dealer starting Monday, November, 29th, 2021 to address the problem. Services will be carried out by prior appointment in order to avoid crowding, respecting the safety guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the decrees that aim to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Ram Trucks Brazil says the replacement of the engine preheating relay will take about one hour to fix.
According to Ram, there are 1,748 units affected in the recall, with non-sequential chassis numbers (last 8 digits) MG533336 to NG121185. Customers with questions are asked to contact Ram Trucks Brazil via www.ram.com.br or the Ram Brazil Customer Service Center at 0800-730-7060.
