The compact Ram Rampage has taken the Brazilian pickup market by storm. Since its release, Ram Truck sales in the country have reached record monthly numbers. Needless to say, the turbocharged compact pickup is precisely what people have been clamoring for in the Latin American marketplace.
Since its launch, the Rampage has amassed numerous awards. Its latest accolade is clinching the coveted 2023 “Best Car of the Year” award at the 22nd Top Car TV awards.
The event was attended by several guests, including journalists and industry executives, along with a panel of 50 jurors from the specialized press.
Not only did the Rampage secure the “Best Car of the Year” title, but it also claimed the “Best Pickup above R$ 191,000” award, which roughly equates to $38,820 USD.
The Rampage stands as the most powerful and fastest pickup built in South America. The performance-oriented Rampage R/T embodies the epitome of the compact pickup market, owing to its turbocharged 2.0-liter Hurricane4 inline-four-cylinder engine. The Hurricane4 generates 272 horsepower and 400 Nm (295 lb.-ft.) of torque. Coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel-drive (4×4), the Rampage R/T achieves a 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) time of 6.9 seconds and a limited top speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).
Thanks to its performance, capacity, robustness, sophistication, and technology, the Rampage has conquered the Brazilian market and, in November, became the third best-selling pickup truck in Brazil, trailing only its Stellantis Fiat cousins, the subcompact Strada and compact Toro.
