Ram Trucks Introduces Four New Models For Their First Public Debut In Texas:
Rebel 12, Power Wagon Mojave Sand, Ram Chassis Cab Harvest and Ram Rodeo Editions...
Ram Trucks held a press conference today before the State Fair of Texas officially kicks off to the public tomorrow. Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Truck Brand, FCA – North America, showed the press their first public look at four new models.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 Special Edition offers unique technology never before available on Rebel, including Ram’s UConnect 4C with a 12-inch screen and navigation. The fourth-generation UConnect system includes enhanced processing power, multi-touch gestures, vivid imagery, sharper graphics, and the ability to support smartphone integrations. The class-exclusive, 12-inch reconfigurable touchscreen display offers the split-screen capability and tailor-made graphics. Next-generation in-car audio entertainment debuts with industry-exclusive SiriusXM with 360L, on-demand content, and a personalized listening experience.
Rebel 12 Special Edition also features a leather-trimmed interior with heated front seats and unique metal speaker grilles trimmed in Rebel’s signature Radar Red anodized finish. Owners will appreciate the finest audio system ever available in a pickup — Harman Kardon with 19 premium speakers, a 900-watt surround-sound amplifier, a 10-inch subwoofer, and active noise cancellation.
The second truck that made its official public debut was the 2018 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Mojave Sand Edition. Previously the fastest-moving color on the Ram Rebel, this is the first time Mojave Sand exterior paint has been available on a Ram Heavy Duty truck and is exclusive to the Power Wagon. To accompany the new color, new all-black wheels create a complete exterior design element.
The limited-edition truck features an all-black interior with Ram’s UConnect 8.4-inch touchscreen. Also, part of the package, the Power Wagon Mojave Sand adds the Heavy Duty Luxury Group, which includes LED bed lighting, overhead console power heated/fold-away mirrors, and a universal garage door opener.
The first vehicle to be shown was the recently released 2018 Ram Heavy Duty Chassis Cab Harvest Edition trucks. The Harvest Edition will be available across the Ram 3500 (SRW and DRW), 4500 and 5500 (DRW, 60-inch, and 80-inch cab-to-axle lengths) Chassis Cab lineup, in all four-door Crew Cab and two-door Regular Cab configurations. Optional powertrains include 4×4 versions of the 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 or 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel.
Harvest Edition Chassis Cab trucks are loaded with functional features that are designed to work, including large front tow hooks, a transfer-case skid plate, side steps, fog lamps, and a rear backup camera.
The Harvest Edition comes standard with technology farmers are looking for, including an optional 8.4-inch UConnect 4C touchscreen radio with navigation, 4G Wi-Fi capability, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which gives buyers seamless connectivity, fingertip access to smartphone map mirroring, and Sirius Weather with up-to-the-minute weather maps and forecasts customizable to any location in the nation. A large 7-inch reconfigurable cluster allows operators to monitor selected systems, such as filter life, engine hours, and operating temperatures. The interior also includes an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering-wheel audio controls, and power-sliding rear window (Crew Cab).
The Harvest Edition features a premium exterior appearance packed with chrome highlights, including the grille, side-steps, door handles, and mirrors. Polished aluminum wheels enhance all four corners (18-inch on 3500 models, 19.5-inch on 4500 and 5500 models).
The fourth truck is the 2018 Ram Heavy Duty Laramie Longhorn “Ram Rodeo” Edition. Loaded with premium materials, the Longhorn interior presents unique features and design cues. The Longhorn Ram Rodeo Edition builds on that theme by adding a suede headliner against beautifully contrasted interior colors such as Black and Cattle Tan.
Ram Rodeo’s exterior design upgrades include body-colored bumpers and side-steps. Distinctive “LONGHORN” badging stretches across the width of the tailgate against available RV Match Walnut Brown, Brilliant Black Crystal, Bright White, Pearl White, Delmonico Red, or Granite Crystal Metallic (monotone only). 20-inch aluminum wheels with optional painted pockets are standard on Ram 2500/3500 single-rear-wheel trucks. Ram 3500 dual-rear-wheel trucks receive 17-inch polished aluminum wheels.
The Ram Rodeo includes a 5th wheel/gooseneck trailer prep package and bed-view camera to provide owners with a factory solution for heavy trailers and deliver a clear view to align with the hitch point. The Longhorn Ram Rodeo also features Ram’s exclusive rear air suspension for comfort and expert load-leveling when hauling payload or trailer.
You can watch the press conference below.
While we showed you the 2018 Ram Heavy Duty Laramie Longhorn “Ram Rodeo” Edition this morning, we also broke the news that the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty models will be the upcoming heavy refreshed trucks we have been posting pictures of for some time. Morrison stated during the conference that “some of you may know that next year we’re introducing an all-new Heavy Duty pickup”. That pickup will be the 2019 Heavy-Duty that will make its debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January.
Stay tuned as we will have more news about the FCA US lineup, at the State Fair of Texas tomorrow.
