Ram Trucks Achieves 206% Sales Growth in Brazil

The Rampage Drives Ram's Success in the Brazilian Market...

While Ram faces challenges in the U.S. and Canadian markets, the brand is experiencing remarkable growth in Brazil. In 2024, Ram achieved a staggering 206% increase in sales compared to the previous year, mainly driven by the popularity of the compact Ram Rampage pickup truck. This surge highlights Ram’s successful strategy of positioning itself as a premium luxury brand in the Brazilian automotive market.

Record-Breaking Sales in Brazil –

As of September 2024, Ram has sold over 22,000 pickup trucks in Brazil, exceeding its 2023 total of 17,000 units, which marked a record for the brand in the country. This impressive performance positions Ram as a leader in the Brazilian pickup market, commanding a 6.6% share in the overall pickup segment and 1.3% share in the total market of passenger and light commercial vehicles.

Dominating the Large Pickup Truck Segment –

In the large pickup truck segment, Ram stands out even more prominently. The brand has sold 4,752 units, commanding an impressive 76% market share. In September alone, 391 of these larger pickups were sold, accounting for nearly 80% of all units sold in that segment during the month. This strong performance underscores Ram’s status as a premium brand in Brazil, distinguishing itself in a competitive market.

The Success of the Ram Rampage –

A significant contributor to Ram’s success is the compact Rampage, which has become one of the best-selling models in Brazil. With 2,113 units registered in September, the Rampage alone has accounted for 17,681 sales year-to-date, showcasing its appeal among Brazilian consumers. The Rampage’s style, functionality, and affordability combination resonates well with local buyers, further enhancing Ram’s brand image as a premium luxury option.

A Contrast with North America –

Ram’s growth in Brazil contrasts sharply with its current struggles in North America, where the brand has faced declining sales and stiff competition. However, the Brazilian market demonstrates that Ram’s focus on premium products tailored to local tastes can yield impressive results.

I really think we’ll have the same results here if we sold the Rampage. Ram loyalist really want a smaller pick up in the 1500. Now that the classic is gone, this would be a great replacement. Ram really needs to build and sell the Rampage for the US in Canadian markets.
