Ram Releases Laramie Night Edition Model For Rampage
New Dark Package Makes Us Envious For The Brazilian-Built Compact Pickup...
Ram’s compact Rampage pickup has been a roaring success in South America, particularly in Brazil, where it has propelled the brand to the top of the premium pickup market, breaking all sales records along the way. Built on the Stellantis Small-Wide 4×4 LWB architecture (shared with the Jeep® Compass), the Rampage competes directly with the likes of the Ford Maverick, a popular choice in the North American market. Despite its triumphs in South America, the Rampage remains conspicuously absent from North American roads, leaving Ram enthusiasts puzzled about the brand’s decision.
Recently, Ram unveiled the new Rampage Laramie Night Edition package, adding a touch of dark elegance to its compact pickup lineup. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s larger half-ton and Heavy Duty models, the Night Edition offers sleek black accents in place of the traditional chrome trim found on the Laramie version. From the grille and headlight frames to the wheels and exhaust tips, every detail exudes a sense of sophistication and style.
Inside, the Rampage Laramie Night Edition boasts luxurious black leather seats and darkened door and instrument panels, creating a cohesive and refined interior ambiance. The addition of the Elite Pack further enhances the experience with premium Harman Kardon® 10-speaker sound system with subwoofer, LED ambient lights and a 12-way electric passenger seat (4-way for lumbar).
In terms of technology and comfort, the Rampage Laramie leaves little to be desired. Featuring a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a 10.3-inch Full Digital instrument panel, it offers seamless connectivity and advanced infotainment options. Safety is also a top priority, with seven airbags and a host of driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), front collision warning (FCW), blind spot monitoring (BSM), and lane changing alert (LCA).
Under the hood, the Rampage Laramie Night Edition packs a punch with its modern turbocharged 2.0-liter GME-T4 inline-four-cylinder engine, known as the Hurricane4. Generating 272 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, it delivers impressive performance while maintaining efficiency. Paired with a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic transmission and a 4×4 Auto transfer case, the Rampage offers confident handling and capability in various driving conditions.
Despite its premium features and performance, the Rampage Laramie Night Edition comes with a hefty price tag of around $54,143 USD (R$ 277,990.00). However, when compared to competitors like the Ford Maverick Lariat Black Appearance 4×4, priced at $41,000, the Rampage offers a wealth of additional features and technology, making it a compelling option for buyers seeking a smaller, yet fully-equipped pickup truck.
With its combination of style, performance, and versatility, the Rampage has the potential to meet the needs of a wide range of buyers in the North American marketplace. As demand for compact trucks continues to grow, the introduction of the Rampage could be just what Ram needs to make a splash in this competitive segment.
