RAM Mexico Offers 6 Models Across 5 Different Trims For 2022!
TRX Returns To The Lineup For The New Model Year...
RAM Mexico unveiled its Ram 1500 (DT) lineup for the 2022 model year. Unlike the lineups found in America and Canada, the Mexico lineup consists of 6 models across 5 different trims. Out of those models, 5 of them come standard with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with eTorque mild-hybrid technology as well as the Advanced Trailer Assistance on par with the new trends demanded by the market.
All Ram DT models sold in the Mexican market for 2022, come standard with the all-new Uconnect 5 infotainment software. The system is four times faster and has three times more memory than the Uconnect 4C software equipped in the 2019 to 2021 models. Uconnect 5 features Wi-Fi capability, navigation, and allows for over-the-air updates to offer new content, features, and services over the lifetime of the vehicle.
Models –
Like the American and Canadian lineups, Mexico continues to offer the Ram 1500 Classic (DS) pickup in its lineup as a cheaper alternative. While the DS model pickups are continuing to be produced in Mexico, RAM has decided to let the DT models be more of a premium offering. This means there is no Tradesman model for the Mexican marketplace.
As the entry model, the 2022 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4×4 Off-Road (or as the RAM Mexico calls it, the 2022 Ram 1500 Mild-Hybrid Big Horn Off-Road) equips the popular “4×4 Off-Road Package” along with the popular “Night Edition” package and offers customers an aggressive-looking mid-level off-road package with dark accents.

The Laramie Sport features unique elements like a Sport Performance Hood with air intakes, body-colored bumpers, handles, mirrors, and 22-inch polished/painted aluminum wheels.
The 2022 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn (known as the Ram 1500 Mild-Hybrid Longhorn) incorporates a grill with an exclusive design for Longhorn with a glossy silver finish, its 4 bi-functional LED projector lamps respond to different light intensities outside and from other cars depending on the situation. Technology –
On Ram 1500 Laramie Sport, Longhorn, and Limited models feature a 12-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen. For those who opt for the Big Horn Off-Road model, the 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 system is the only system available.
All models come standard with a 7-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) screen which shows the driver (fuel economy, alerts, safety information, equipment, media information, and other things). The driver can select what information he/she wants to see in different sections of the screen while driving. The screen has high definition and 3D animated graphics.
Chassis –
The Limited and Limited Night Edition adds the well-known air suspension with 5 operating modes (Off-Road 1, Off-Road 2, Exit/Entry, Normal, and Aero). For Longhorn and Limited Sport models, the Ram 1500 features coil spring front suspension with anti-roll bar, dual-tube Heavy Duty shocks with responsive frequency damping, and Multilink rear suspension with coil springs, anti-roll bar and Heavy Duty shocks.
The Big Horn Off-Road adds a 1-inch additional lift in height, dampers with Off-Road calibration, electronic rear differential, skid plates, and hill-descent control (the electronic system helps maintain vehicle control on steep slopes, especially on slippery surfaces or off-road. It is designed to maintain vehicle speed and stability on slopes at speeds of 30 km/h / 18.6 mph or less).
Powertrain –
The 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine with 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque with the eTorque mild-hybrid is mated to a ZF-sourced 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The eTorque combines a belt-driven motor-generator with a 48-volt battery pack, which manages the Start/Stop functions, short-term torque delivery, and braking energy recovery system. The eTorque system adds up to an additional 130 lb.-ft. to the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 under load.
TRX –
For 2022, RAM is bringing the TRX performance off-roader back to the Mexican marketplace. The TRX is the world’s fastest and most powerful production pickup with the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8.
With 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, the supercharged HEMI HELLCAT V8 engine propels the RAM TRX up to a top speed of 190 km/h (118 mph). Combined with an 8-speed Torque Flight automatic transmission designed to handle high torque, it takes the Ram TRX to a new level of performance: it does 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 4.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds at 174 km/h (108 mph).
Ram TRX uses performance-oriented software to preset five dynamic modes of on-road operation (Auto, Sport, Tow, Snow, and Custom). In this way, the driver can select the vehicle setting that best suits his needs and environmental conditions. Alongside these dynamic road modes, the Ram TRX offers three more off-road-specific ones (Mud/Sand, Rock, and Baja), they allow the driver to choose the optimal configuration for their off-road trips.
The Ram 1500 TRX builds on everything the award-winning Ram 1500 lineup delivers – including world-class luxurious interiors with premium materials and incredible attention to detail, segment-leading ride-quality and comfort, and a superior level of refinement and sophistication – and raises the no-compromise benchmark for power, performance, durability, technology, and convenience with features never before offered in a pickup.
Class-leading ride and handling are accomplished via an all-new custom suspension composed of the highest possible quality components and tuning geared towards high-speed desert runs, producing even more capability on the street or in the desert. The Ram 1500 TRX boasts a ground clearance of 11.8 inches due in part to a 2-inch ride height increase when compared with the rest of the Ram 1500 lineup, along with aggressive 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory All-Terrain 325/65/R18 tires. This combination enables TRX to clear surface obstacles easily and at high speeds.
A luxurious and spacious interior offers authentic, premium materials, colors, and textures, including hand-wrapped leather instrument panels for unexpected luxury throughout. As a segment disrupter, the standard Uconnect 5 with a massive 12-inch touchscreen leads the segment in technology, featuring split-screen capability, 360-degree camera views, and exclusive content from SiriusXM with 360L and Personalized Stations.
