Moulin Rouge Muscle: 1970 Plymouth ’Cuda Headed to Barrett-Jackson

Stroker Power, Show-Ready Finish

When it comes to classic Mopar muscle, few cars command attention like a 1970 Plymouth ’Cuda finished in Moulin Rouge (FM3). This particular example, crossing the block with no reserve at the Barrett-Jackson 2025 Scottsdale Fall Auction (Oct. 15–18 at WestWorld), takes that reputation up a notch with a ground-up rotisserie restoration and a big-cube heart under the hood.

At the core is a 493 cubic-inch stroker V8, built off a 1975 440 foundation. With Edelbrock aluminum heads, mild porting, and a Qwik Fuel 750 double-pumper carb, the motor puts down an impressive 518 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque on the dyno. Cooling is handled by a Glen Ray radiator rated for 750 horsepower, while exhaust gases bark through 2-inch TTI headers and a 3-inch system with Hooker mufflers.

Backing the stroker is a Passon Performance 5-speed manual transmission paired with a McLeod clutch. Out back, a Dana/Strange S60 rear end with 3.73 gears transfers the power to the pavement. Stopping comes courtesy of Dr. Diff four-wheel slotted disc brakes, while Firm Feel suspension upgrades—including fast-ratio pitman and idler arms—help keep this ’Cuda planted.

On the outside, the car wears its FM3 Moulin Rouge paint proudly, complemented by a Shaker hood, rear Go Wing, hockey-stick side stripes, and rear window louvers. BFGoodrich rubber (235/60R15 up front, 275/60R15 in back) completes the muscle stance. Inside, the cabin was fully redone, with Redline Gauge Works restoring the instruments, a rim-blow steering wheel, four power windows, and modern touches like Dynamat insulation, LED taillights, and a factory-look Bluetooth radio feeding Kicker speakers. An MSD 6AL2 two-step rev limiter, line lock, and plenty of small details hint this car isn’t just about show—it’s ready for go.

Barrett-Jackson is known for its show-stopping Mopars, and this ’Cuda fits right in. Finished in one of the rarest high-impact colors Chrysler ever sprayed and armed with a healthy stroker V8, it blends the best of vintage muscle with carefully integrated modern upgrades. Add in receipts and documentation from its rotisserie restoration, and bidders will have plenty to get excited about when this Moulin Rouge ’Cuda rolls onto the auction block.
