OFFICIAL: Ram 1500 Classic Will Make Its Way To The Brazilian Market!

Laramie & R/T Trims Will Be Available In 2023 Model Year...

Ram is continuing to expand its lineup in Brazil, one of the brand’s largest global markets. After introducing the Ram 1500 Rebel in 2021 and the Ram 3500 Laramie and Limited Longhorn in 2022, and now the pickup truck brand is looking to launch another half-ton offering in the market.

Earlier this year, our good friends at the Brazilian publication “Autos Segredos”, caught Ram Brazil engineers testing two Ram 1500 Classic (DS) pickups with minor camouflage on public roads. The fourth-generation half-ton pickups appeared to be the ones produced at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Mexico and were built in Crew Cab Short Box 4×4 configuration.

Now, Ram Brazil has released a short video teasing the arrival of the Ram 1500 Classic in the Brazilian market.

In the 15-second video, we get a quick showing off what appears to be the Laramie and the Mexican-spec HEMI Sport. However, our friends at Autos Segredos are telling us that one of the offerings will be rebadged as an R/T for the Brazilian market.

After the Dodge and Ram brand separated in 2009, Ram continued to use the R/T nameplate for a performance package for its Regular Cab pickups until 2018 in the United States and Canada. The R/T name was also used in the Mexican market for a Sport package (offered both in Regular and Crew Cab) until 2020. Since it has been replaced by the HEMI Sport.

Autos Segredos tells us, that R/T will feature 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels and R-A-M badges. The truck will also feature body-colored bumpers, door handles, and mirror caps. There will be the addition of R/T emblems on the fenders according to their sources.

Both trucks will offer the 5.7-liter (345 cubic-inch) HEMI V8 delivering 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. The HEMI will be offered with the ZF-sourced 8HP75 8-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment.

We don’t have an official date just yet for an unveiling. But we expect the truck to arrive sometime in Q3 this year.
