Next-Gen Dodge Charger Reveal Officially Announced

One Week Away From The Official Reveal Of The All-New, All-Electric Charger...

Dodge enthusiasts mark your calendars! The much-anticipated reveal of the next-generation Dodge Charger (LB) is officially set for March 5th, 2024. This announcement comes about a month after we heard word that Dodge’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Matt McAlear, dropped the news at the J.D. Power Auto Summit in Las Vegas.

Unlike the recent Chrysler Halcyon Concept unveiling that left fans scrambling for their caffeine fix with an early morning start, Dodge is giving us a break this time. The big reveal will kick off at a more reasonable 11:00 a.m. EDT / 8:00 a.m. PDT, making it easier for everyone to catch the action. You will be able to watch the reveal right here on MoparInsiders.com.

Now, what can we expect to see? While Dodge is keeping their cards close to the chest, we believe Dodge will reveal the all-new, all-electric two-door Charger Daytona model. This 400-volt coupe is the car that will ultimately be replacing the outgoing Challenger.

The Charger Daytona is set to redefine e-muscle cars with its dual e-motor setup, paving the way for standard all-wheel drive (AWD). And get this, there’ll be options for everyone with two electrical architectures: 400-volt and 800-volt. This means electrified muscle for all tastes.

Let’s talk horsepower. At the entry level, we’re looking at the Charger Daytona 340, packing a punch with 456 horsepower. Step up to the Charger Daytona 440, and you’re looking at a baseline of 590 horsepower. But wait, there’s more. Direct Connection eStage upgrade kits will be available, offering power-hungry drivers even more muscle.

Design-wise, the new Charger Daytona takes cues from its 2022 concept, featuring a radical R-wing front spoiler and a sleek hatchback design. This isn’t your grandpa’s sedan; it’s a modern powerhouse with a nod to classic Charger styling.

One of the most talked-about features is the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system. Dodge promises a unique exhaust note tailored to each model, with sound levels rivaling the ferocious HELLCAT.

Production of the 400-volt Charger Daytona is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2024 at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada. A new teaser for the reveal states the cars will be available in late 2024.

And for those holding out for the ultimate electric Charger Daytona experience, keep an eye out for the 800-volt SRT “Banshee” coming next year. With faster charging and a baseline of 885 horsepower, it’s set to turn heads and burn rubber. We expect Dodge to release more details about the Banshee closer to its production launch.

A four-door variant as well as internal combustion engine (ICE) variants are also in the works; however, we believe we might hear details on those models, but it is unlikely we will see them during the reveal.

So, mark your calendars for March 5th as we gear up to witness the next chapter in Dodge Charger history. Whether you’re a die-hard muscle car fan or a tech-savvy enthusiast, there’s something for everyone in Dodge’s electrifying lineup. Stay tuned for all the latest updates on the next-generation Dodge Charger.

IMO, this model should only be available with a 800V architecture. 800V can cut fast-charging times roughly in half.
It basically answers the complaint of having to wait 30 minutes to charge when stopping and makes long distance traveling (over 1000km) much more viable. For US consumers this is essential.
Also, hopefully it comes with the NACS plug. Over there you guys really have it hard in term of fast-charging networks.
