Mopars Fill The Donut Cutter Lot Ahead Of Dream Cruise

Annual Mid-Week Meet Delivers Cars, Coffee, And Mopar Camaraderie

Yesterday, I made my way down to the Donut Cutter in Berkley, Michigan, for one of my favorite traditions of Woodward Dream Cruise week—Mopars at the Donut Cutter. Every year on the Wednesday before the big cruise, this small donut shop at Woodward Avenue and Catalpa turns into Mopar central, and it’s an event I make sure never to miss.

It’s an early morning gathering, but the lot was already filling up when I pulled in. Classic and modern Mopars lined the rows—everything from ’60s and ’70s Chargers, Coronet, Challengers, and Barracudas to today’s Charger Daytona Scat Packs, Durango SRT HELLCATs, and even a few rare turbo Mopars. You could hear the rumble of big-block HEMIs and 440 SIX PACKs mixing with the growl of modern supercharged power.

The Twisted Axle Car Club was there in force again this year, bringing an impressive lineup of member rides. I even spotted a couple of unique builds I hadn’t seen in years, which is exactly why I love coming back—every year there’s something different to see.

It’s not just about the cars, though. It’s the people. Mopar fans catching up after a year apart, sharing stories, trading tips, and just enjoying the scene. The smell of fresh coffee and donuts mixed with high-octane exhaust is a combo only a Motor City car meet can deliver.

For me, this annual stop has become as much a part of Dream Cruise week as Saturday’s main event. It’s where the Mopar family comes together—classic and modern, young and old—and reminds you why Detroit will always be the heart of the muscle car world.
