Ram isn’t wasting any time making a statement in South America. While the midsize Dakota is gearing up for its long-awaited 2027 arrival in Brazil, Mopar rolled into the São Paulo International Auto Show with a custom version of the new Dakota Laramie—making it clear the brand wants to own the premium truck market right out of the gate.
This marks the first time the Dakota Laramie has been shown publicly with Mopar upgrades, and the result is a sharper, tougher take on Ram’s newest truck. It’s part of Ram’s huge marketing push surrounding the truck, including a special “Casa Ram Dakota” experience that brings test drives and hands-on product interaction to fans during the show.
A Dakota With Mopar Attitude –

Designed by the Stellantis South American Design Studio, the Moparized Dakota takes the upscale Laramie trim and injects it with factory-engineered personality. It features:
-
A bold black grille giving the front end a more aggressive look
-
Black-finished wheels for a more rugged stance
-
Power running boards for easy entry
-
Illuminated sill guards
-
New Mopar Rambar built for mounting LED lighting
-
Custom hood, door, and bedside graphics
-
Mopar bed mat and integrated LED bed lighting
-
Power tonneau cover
-
Logo projector puddle lights
Whether it’s parked at the beach or hitting the trails, this version looks the part.
Midsize Muscle Built For Brazil –

The Dakota fills a major gap in Ram’s lineup. It’s the brand’s first midsize pickup since Ram became its own division in 2009—and it’s tailor-made for South America, where diesel midsize trucks dominate sales.
Power comes from a 2.2-liter Multijet II turbodiesel four-cylinder making 200 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque (332 lb-ft), paired to an 8-speed 8HP50 automatic. With selectable 2WD, 4WD Auto, and 4WD Low modes, the Dakota automatically sends power where it’s needed based on traction.
An electronic rear-locking differential and hill-descent control give buyers confidence in tough terrain.
Ready To Work –

Ram built the Dakota with real capability behind the style:
-
3.5-ton max towing (7,716 lbs)
-
1,020 kg payload (2,248 lbs)
-
1,210-liter bed volume (42.7 cubic feet)
-
Dampened tailgate and electronic bed lock included
This truck isn’t just for the valet line at high-end restaurants—it earns its keep.
A Launch Stellantis Is Betting Big On –

Ram leadership has been vocal: Dakota is expected to become one of the brand’s top-selling products in Brazil. The Laramie specifically targets buyers who want comfort and capability in one package. Pairing that with official Mopar accessories right from launch gives Ram a major advantage—factory support for personalization from Day One.
With Mopar already flexing what’s possible, Ram’s newest truck looks ready to make an unforgettable debut on Brazilian roads.
