Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) has recalled specific MOPAR Brake Pedal Assemblies with Part #68607178AA intended for use with 2024 to 2025 Dodge Hornet R/T PHEV (GG) crossovers. According to the recall, these brake pedal assemblies may collapse, causing a loss of brake function.
Parts identified as being involved in this campaign should be held pending further instruction from Mopar. A stop-sale order is in effect for the above-identified parts.
Some brake pedal assemblies may have been built with a brake pedal arm that could collapse while braking. A brake pedal arm that collapses during normal braking may prevent the driver from activating the service brakes, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.
Should this occur, the Electronic Park Brake on the center console can be pulled up and held while driving to slow the vehicle to a controlled stop. Additionally, unless deactivated, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system will intervene without further action from the driver when it detects an imminent collision.
