Meet The 2025 Ram 1200 Midsized Pickup For Mexico
Chinese-Built Midsized Truck, Looks To Offer A Budget-Friendly Offering For Mexican Customers...
Ram Mexico is expanding its lineup for 2025 by introducing the 2025 Ram 1200. While new to the Mexican portfolio, this vehicle has been produced for other brands in the Stellantis portfolio, such as Fiat’s Titano and Peugeot’s Landtrek.
Produced in China, the Ram 1200 is a body-on-frame midsized pickup based on the Chinese Kaicene F70 and Changan trucks. Although it shares the same sheet metal as its Fiat and Peugeot siblings, the Ram 1200 differentiates itself with a unique grille design and R-A-M text on the tailgate. It is available in two cab configurations (a two-door Regular Cab and a four-door Crew Cab) and three different trim levels (Tradesman, Big Horn, and Laramie) to accommodate the needs of the Mexican market.
Trim Levels and Features –
Tradesman Models: Offered in either Regular Cab or Crew Cab, these models feature unpainted plastic fascias, 16-inch steel wheels, and a choice of Gray or White exterior colors.
Big Horn Crew Cab: This model offers more features, including body-colored fascia, chrome grille, a 6-speed automatic transmission, ECO/NORMAL/SPORT drive modes, rear parking sensors, backup camera, fog lights, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Laramie Models: This top-tier model includes standard four-wheel-drive (4×4), a 4×4 traction selector knob, rear differential lock, keyless entry, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), 18-inch aluminum wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, power leather seats, and cargo lights. Both the Big Horn and Laramie are available in three color choices: Dark Gray Metallic, Metallic Red, or Gray.
Engine and Performance –
Under the hood, the Ram 1200 is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine delivering 207 horsepower and 226 lb.-ft. of torque. Tradesman models come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, while Big Horn and Laramie models come standard with a 6-speed automatic.
Towing and Payload Capacity –
According to Stellantis, the Ram 1200 boasts a towing capacity of 3,000 kg (6,614 pounds), putting it on par with other midsize pickups in Mexico, such as the Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier. Payload capacity also falls within the expected range for the class, varying between 1,150 and 1,210 kg (2,535-2,668 pounds), depending on the specific version.
Pricing –
- Tradesman Regular Cab 4×2: Starts at $444,900 MXN (approximately $25,000 USD).
- Tradesman Crew Cab 4×2: Starts at $492,900 MXN (approximately $27,727 USD).
- Big Horn Crew Cab 4×2: Starts at $578,900 MXN (approximately $32,565 USD).
