Maserati Shows Off It’s All-New GranTurismo Folgore Without Camouflage For The First Time!
Capable Of Recharging 100 Miles Of Range In Just 10 Minutes...
In a surprising twist, Maserati has just shown its all-new GranTurismo Folgore uncamouflaged for the first time on its social media accounts. The new electrified GT car was spotted by enthusiasts while charging during the Monterey car week, last week in California.
Klaus Busse, Head of Maserati Design, Maria Conti, Chief Communication Officer, and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco were highlighted with the Folgore in a five-minute, sixteen-second video on YouTube giving us a tease of the latest addition to the Folgore lineup.
Although much of the interior was blurred out in the video, we did get a great look at the uncamouflaged exterior for the first time. The curvy exterior looks less menacing than the previous model and more seductive and sleek taking cues from the MC20 super sportscar.
The video does give us some good information on the newest electrified Maserati 2+2 coupe. Busse states that engineers were able to pack the car’s batteries inside the center tunnel, keeping the weight centered and low. The car will feature a three e-motor setup with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup and more than 1,200 horsepower. We also now know that the GranTurismo Folgore is capable of a 0 to 60 mph time in 2.6 seconds and a top speed of over 200+ mph.
Using an 800-volt electrical system, the car features inverters from Stellantis’ Formula E programs. This means that the GranTurismo Folgore is capable of charging at remarkable speeds, depending on the charging system. Conti stated that the GranTurismo Folgore has a charging capability of 100 miles in just 10 minutes (or 62 miles in a quick 5 minutes).
We look forward to seeing the car make its official debut sometime in Q4 2022.
