Meet The 2019 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Big Horn Sport:

Sport Package Gets Unique Look For Heavy Duty Models...

Our spy photographers have caught the upcoming 2019 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Big Horn, testing around Auburn Hills, Michigan. This is our first time seeing the Big Horn trim level without it’s camouflage, out testing. The big news is this Big Horn is equipped with the Sport Appearance Package.

That’s right following the trim levels of the current trucks, the updated Ram Heavy Duty will not offer a Sport trim level. Instead, you will be able to get monochromatic looks on the Tradesman, Big Horn and Limited trim levels with the available Sport Appearance Package.

Just like it’s smaller 1500 brother, the Ram 2500 Big Horn Sport still wears the chrome badges on the hood. We have seen that the new Power Wagon will carry black versions on itself and we assume there will be Black editions of the truck as well with the same.

Up front, the Heavy Duty Sport models have a tad bit different look than the 2019 Ram 1500. Yes, it keeps it’s “big-rig” styling. But we are talking about the Sport package’s look to the grille. While the grille still has the chrome “RAM” text like the 1500. The inner parts of the grille are painted silver compared to the body-colored Ram 1500 version shown below.

This “True Blue” model, is equipped with the optional power black tow-mirrors. So it doesn’t look like that caps on the tow-mirrors on the Big Horn models at least will be body-colored. Though we wouldn’t be surprised if the Ram Heavy Duty standard mirrors end up getting body-colored caps over them.

This truck also is equipped with 20-inch painted aluminum wheels. Currently, the 2018 Ram 2500 does offer a black version of that exact wheel design. So while we won’t have any specific-specs until next month, we don’t doubt that the Big Horn will offer an all-black wheel design to enhance the Sport Appearance Package.

Inside, the Big Horn gets all of the updates we showed you when we broke down the interior design of the 2019 Ram 2500 Laramie models. Instead of the “bronze” trim applied on the Laramie, the Big Horn gets its classic silver trim. Toggle switches are located underneath the climate controls and we know Ram engineers worked hard to engineer the same class-leading storage thanks to the center console from the Ram 1500, was able to fit in the cab of the 4th generation Ram Heavy Duty cabin.

Stay tuned as we break down more variants of the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty. We can’t wait to get behind the wheel of this new Heavy Duty and see for ourselves how Ram managed to blend the best of the 5th generation Ram 1500, into the 4th generation Ram Heavy Duty.
