Jeep® Teases Boldly Updated 2026 Grand Wagoneer

New Look, More Tech, And 4xe Power On The Horizon

After months of spy shots, speculation, and tight-lipped testing, Jeep® has finally given us our first official look at the refreshed 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (WS). Set to go into production in Q4 2025 at the Stellantis Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan, the brand’s flagship SUV is getting more than just a mild makeover — it’s being repositioned in the Jeep lineup with new styling, fresh tech, and a clear attitude shift.

While past Grand Wagoneers were marketed under the Wagoneer sub-brand, this new model will proudly wear the Jeep nameplate once again. Gone is the “Wagoneer” branding across the front — in its place is the unmistakable Jeep badging, tying the premium full-size SUV closer to the core of the brand than it’s been in decades.

Back With a New Attitude –

In an exclusive conversation earlier today, Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf didn’t hold back on what customers can expect.

“This thing will blow customers away, with more power, new tech, new style, and more value,” Broderdorf said. “It will proudly wear the Jeep badge and later this fall, [you’ll hear] more about this new attitude for the Grand Wagoneer.”

That “new attitude” takes direct cues from the newly launched all-electric Wagoneer S, a midsize SUV that introduced a sleeker, more aerodynamic design language. The 2026 Grand Wagoneer picks up on that, with sharper LED lighting, a more sculpted front fascia, adding to the Grand Wagoneer’s already muscular contouring that makes this massive SUV feel more modern and upscale.

Powertrain of the Future – 4xe Incoming –

One of the biggest rumors lurking under the skin is the rumored range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) setup, similar to what’s already been confirmed for the Ram 1500 Ramcharger. The REEV system uses a 92-kWh battery, a 130-kW onboard generator powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, and electric motors to deliver impressive performance and range.

In the Ramcharger, this setup delivers:

  • Up to 690 miles of targeted range

  • 663 horsepower

  • 615 lb.-ft. of torque

  • 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds

This tech is expected to arrive in the Grand Wagoneer sometime in 2026, under the well-known 4xe badge. Jeep originally teased this setup during their 4xe Day presentation in September 2022, where they hinted at electrified versions of the brand’s most iconic nameplates.

High-Tech Utility –

If the Grand Wagoneer follows in the Ramcharger’s footsteps, it could also feature bi-directional charging, which allows the vehicle to charge other EVs or power a home during an outage. The Ramcharger even includes an onboard power panel in the bed offering up to 7.2 kW, making it ideal for work sites, tailgating, or off-grid adventures.

With 400-volt DC fast charging up to 175 kW, the REEV setup can deliver 5 miles of range per minute of charging. While Jeep hasn’t officially confirmed all of these specs for the Grand Wagoneer yet, insiders believe much of this tech will transfer over.

A Flagship Worthy of the Name –

The Grand Wagoneer has always been the halo vehicle for Jeep’s premium lineup, and the 2026 update looks to raise the bar even further. With a sleeker exterior, significantly upgraded technology, a powertrain that blends EV flexibility with gas-powered range, and a clear return to its Jeep roots, this refresh could reposition the Grand Wagoneer as one of the top players in the full-size SUV space.

Jeep hasn’t given us a full breakdown of trim levels, interior updates, or pricing just yet — but expect that to change later this fall as the brand unveils more about the vehicle’s new direction.

That will be a huge improvement if it ends up, looking like that.

Do that refresh and give it the hellcat treatment! They will sell everyone they can build with the lesser engines with that kind of PR and style.

I think a V-8 option would be a good idea as the hybrid used in the Ramcharger might be too radical for many. Mistakes were made early on, especially pricing and for me, too many confusing models. Will these new changes also come to the regular base Wagoneer models? I also feel the interior in all the Wagoneers are not luxurious enough and its design language is not much more than the Grand Cherokee interiors and about the same feel in my seat of the pants experience. Can’t see the wow factor. Definitely needs a kick start update in and out at a better price point.
