Jeep® Mexico Unleashes Its Grand Cherokee Overland As Limited Edition:
Overland Model Makes Its Mexico Marketplace Debut...
The Jeep® brand is expanding its award-winning Grand Cherokee lineup in the Mexican marketplace. For the first time ever, the iconic off-road SUV brand is offering its Grand Cherokee Overland trim in Mexico. While Jeep has offered its well-known Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk variants in Mexico, the brand has decided to offer a new premium SUV as a limited production run and with only one configuration available.
So what sets this particular Overland model apart from the standard model found on dealership lots in the United States and Canada? A lot more standard features. Starting with the powertrain, the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque comes standard. That’s right, no 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 here.
Jeep has also equipped the Mexican market with the 4X4 Quadra-Drive® II System as standard equipment as well. Consisting of a two-speed transfer case, with gearbox, and with limited electronic slip differential the 4X4 Quadra-Drive® II System uses various sensors and determines the slippage of each wheel and uses the necessary corrective actions, sending up to 100% of the motor torque to the shaft with greater traction. The vehicle is also equipped with the Quadra-Lift® air suspension as standard equipment, just like it’s United States and Canada variants.
The exterior of the Mexican market Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland looks the same as its other North American counterparts. Chrome accents adorn the Grand Cherokee Overland, while this limited edition is only available in Granite Crystal Metallic exterior paint. The interior will feature ventilated and heated leather seats, wrapped leather dash, and door panels in Dark Sienna Brown Nappa leather. The interior also features an exclusive panoramic dual CommandView® sunroof, which, with the touch of a button, first opens its electric curtain and then the glazed front panel.
This limited edition Grand Cherokee Overland has been equipped with the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with Navigation featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To make sure passengers get the best in audio performance, a Harman Kardon ® Premium Audio System featuring 19 high-end speakers, including a 10-inch Subwoofer, which have been strategically placed in 14 locations, tuned and powered by an Amplifier with 11-channel GreenEdge Class D technology and Surround Sound LOGIC 7 processor, all to deliver a surround sound experience that virtually transports you to a concert hall.
The 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland is available as a limited edition at a price of $998,900 pesos (or about $41,280 USD). The limited edition Overland model underprices the current Grand Cherokee Limited Luxury V8 4×4 Advance model that is currently sold in the Mexican market for $25,000 pesos (or about $1,030 USD) less.
