Jeep® Japan Says Goodbye to Grand Cherokee with Final Edition

Limited-Run Final Edition Celebrates Grand Cherokee’s Legacy in Japan

Stellantis Japan has officially announced that the Jeep® brand will discontinue the Grand Cherokee nameplate in Japan, marking the end of an era for the beloved E-segment SUV. The decision comes as Jeep phases out the right-hand-drive (RHD) variant of the Grand Cherokee and prepares to introduce the all-new Jeep Wagoneer S in select global markets.

To commemorate the Grand Cherokee’s departure, Stellantis Japan President and CEO Hitoshi Narita revealed plans for an exclusive Final Edition model. Limited to just 100 units, this special edition celebrates the Grand Cherokee’s legacy with a unique blend of style and features. Orders for the Grand Cherokee Final Edition will open on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at authorized Jeep dealerships across Japan.

The Grand Cherokee Final Edition will carry a suggested retail price of ¥8,100,000 (approximately $53,754 USD), including taxes. Based on the Limited trim, the Final Edition takes inspiration from the Altitude package, featuring a distinctive blacked-out appearance that gives the SUV a bold and sophisticated look. This marks the first time in over six years that Jeep has offered a darkened package on the Grand Cherokee in Japan.

Styling elements exclusive to the Final Edition include 18-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, Black mirror caps, Black badging, and special Final Edition badges on the rear hatch. The limited-edition model will be available in just two exterior colors: 30 units in Bright White and 70 units in Baltic Gray.

Under the hood, the Grand Cherokee Final Edition will retain the Limited trim’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, known for its balance of power and efficiency. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Jeep’s renowned 4×4 capability, the Final Edition delivers the off-road performance and on-road comfort the Grand Cherokee is celebrated for.

The departure of the Grand Cherokee from the Japanese market reflects Jeep’s evolving global strategy and the growing focus on electrified and new-generation models like the Wagoneer S. However, the Grand Cherokee’s legacy will undoubtedly remain strong, especially with this exclusive Final Edition serving as a fitting tribute to its impact and popularity in Japan.

For Jeep enthusiasts in Japan, the Grand Cherokee Final Edition represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. With only 100 units available, demand is expected to be high — making this final farewell as memorable as the SUV itself.
