There is no doubt, that 2021 was a remarkable year for the Jeep® brand in Brazil. The brand had numerous reasons to celebrate its 80th Anniversary, following the launch of the updated 2022 Jeep Compass, the brand launched the all-new Brazilian-built seven-passenger Jeep Commander, followed by the Renegade becoming the best-selling SUV for the country.
For the sixth consecutive year, Jeep conquered the top of the SUV segment, with a 22.3% market share and a total of 148,797 sold during 2021. It didn’t stop there, Jeep’s Brazilian-built models have consolidated themselves as leaders in each of their segments.
The Jeep Renegade was Brazil’s best-selling SUV in 2021, with 73,921 units sold. Considering being a much smaller market than the United States, where the Renegade sold 47,137 units in 2021, Brazil is the second biggest market for the American adventure brand. In August, Jeep Brazil reached 350,000 units sold in the country, since its original launch in 2014 as a 2015 model.
The updated 2022 Jeep Compass had a great year and led the C-SUV segment with 70,918 units sold. This meant that Compass had a 48.5% market share in the C-SUV segment. In May, the Compass hit a milestone of 250,000 units sold in Brazil since its launch in the 2017 model year.
In December, Jeep Brazil achieved 18.9% of the SUV market share with 13,170 units sold. In the last month of the year, the Renegade sold 4,293 units and the Compass had 6,668 units sold.
The all-new Commander, won the Premium Car of the Year by Autoesporte, the oldest and most prestigious award in the Brazilian automotive press, ended the last month of the year in first place in its segment with 33% market share and 2,185 units sold. Launched in August, the model ended 2021 with 3,715 units delivered.
